Drift zones

Anyone else think there should be 2 separate leaderboards, 1 for normal cars and then another with the drift pack cars. Seems like the only way to be competitive on the drift zones is to use the drift pack cars.

Just have a Leaderboard for every individual car. It’s the only way to truly curtail this sort of complaining…

If you check the LB closely you will find that there are some people still able to tune other cars for drifting…
I cant blame them tho. when you put on the widebody for the E46 bimmer and the drift suspension it doesnt actually look like a drift car. it looks like a stanced car not meant to be used in anything. lol

iv got a few cars iv tuned to sort of compete but the angle the drift pack cars get is unreal haha.

I thought the point of a racing game is to be competitive, even if it means using a car that makes things super easy. Not always feels good, but if that’s the way to go…
To be fair i have even disregarded using the formula drift cars, only a couple weeks ago started to use them when i was going to 3 star all drift zones, and i must say my scores are still far from the top of the leaderboard. That says something about my drifting skills being only average even with the formula viper.
They help, but if you are not skilled enough, then you will get smashed even if there would be a leaderboard for “normal” cars.

Yeah im above people on the leaderboards that are using the drift pack cars but when you start getting top 1% top 2% its mostly drift pack cars in those.

Exactly this, but then also a division between RWD and AWD cars (to sort the never-ending debate of powersliding), and even FWD if you will.

I do not even consider all of the FMD cars to be overwhelming in the top 1%; it is mainly the Viper that I see up there. Without it, it would probably already result in more varied leaderboards.

I found that the Morgan 3 wheeler is the best to 3 star the drift zones with

Would be really nice if they did something like that but i doubt it. People were asking for seperate leaderboards of awd and rwd cars in fh3 aswell but they did not make any changes in fh4.

I used to chase leaderboards on fh3 and if you want to gain the max score possible i was just better off with an awd car with 1500hp on stock tires. Even though i was doing fine with rwd i managed to get like 5% or more with awd. Same goes for most people by the looks of the highscores.

One thing you could do is just look at the leaderbords and see if you are the best with a specific car. It’s still quiet an achievment to be in the top 100 in a rwd car. Just ignore the awd cars above you. On FH4 the dodge viper is on top of most leaderboards with the awd max hp tune.

yeah the viper is dominating its pretty much all i see at the top, yeah think i will just look at the rwd, non FMD scores and ignore the FMD scores.

How do you separate between AWD and RWD scores?

There is no such thing implemented yet (unfortunately). One thing to go by is PI, although that still does not ensure it. Would be nice if there was a replay of the set scores to verify it.

As I thought then. They should either separate the leaderbords or ban AWD from the zones. I don’t get why anyone would like to drift AWD competitively anyway. Noone does that IRL as far as I know.

I said “competitively”. So… show me an AWD drift competition.

Does this count as competition?

Competition, Yes. Drifting, no. It’s gymkhana, that’s not quite the same thing as drifting.

I am late to the party but just realized you were right. Top scores are from AWD cars and mostly Formula D Viper, which is pretty funny. I don’t see any reason to “drift” with AWD so I won’t have any good score? Or is it possible to beat AWD with RWD? I tried some zones with AWD and instantly get more points

So I would like to have a drifting leaderboards for drifting and casual leaderboards for sliding. That would be great.

I am close to zero on drifting just achieved the solo challenges doing all zones several times to get my 3 stars, raging against rwd so long before managing to deactivate this damned, but helpful in this case, rewind button and proud to achieve my scores without using it, then discovering drift cars and beat all my scores still ways from the best people. This welcome difficulty also makes it ‘not casual’ and just like clean racing, this ‘nasty’ tag takes it out of FH4 priorities.
They had announce treasure island has the drift place … not a single drift race … nothing online …few drift zones and the only game drift achievement is bugged (that last remaining for me). ok woaw, amazing … may be FH5 then … just 4 years to wait, good luck drift fans.

Since placement on leader boards will not have women falling all over me or get me a raise or a better job I could care less about them. They are merely a sad ego stroke.
I play the game for one purpose, a way to spend my entertainment time. It’s just a game and I get my money’s worth out of it merely by playing the aspects I like, suffering through the less enjoyable aspects if there is a worthy goal (cough, cough, team adventure, trial, cough, cough) and moving on when I’m ready to move on.

To each their own and how you enjoy the game is up to you, but if some aspect of the game is not to your liking, skip it or deal with it. What will really change in your life if you go from the bottom of a leader board to the top? What is the translatable skill? Do they even have a drifting competition on the professional gaming circuit so you could at least fantasize that there is an earning potential?
