The Judd V10 is an amazing engine
The s101 is a must add!
DOME S101 (2001 - 2007)
3 different models during his career :
In 2001, the car made its FIA Sportcar championship debut in the LMP900 class, entered by 2 teams. Team Den Bla Avis-goh on the one hand, and Racing for Holland on the other.
Both cars took part in the 2001 Le Mans 24-hour race, but were unlucky enough to retire twice.
Back then, it was a bit like David versus Goliath. Big teams like Audi against small ones like Racing for Holland with Dome.
The Dome S101, well known for its magnificent Judd GV4 4.0L V10 engine, enjoyed a 7-year career, with 7 participations in the 24h of Le Mans, notably thanks to Jan Lammers’ “Racing for Holland” team from 2001 to 2007.
It was also entered by the Den Bla-avis Goh team in 2001, as well as Kondo racing in 2002/2003/2004, JIM Gainer international in 2005 but with a Mugen engine, and T2M motorsport in 2007 with a Mader engine.
It was in the hands of the “Racing for Holland” team that this car shone, winning the FIA Sportscar championship in 2002 and 2003.
For the anecdote, the team, unable to find a major sponsor, decided to launch a different project to find lots of small sponsors, resulting in the famous chequered livery with the number of each sponsor in each square.
Today, although retired, many domes can be found in classic competitions organized by Peter auto, notably at Le Mans Classic.
It could be an interesting addition to Forza, with an open prototype and, above all, the incredible sound of the V10-Judd engine.
It could joined the Bentley Speed 8 and, why not, the Audi R8 LMP we’ve seen in previous forza models and it could be placed in the “Early LMP” class in forza.
Having heard this car on site and after having been lucky to be with the racing for holland, it’s one of the most beautiful sounds I’ve heard at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
A short video from GTRmaxvdb99 to let you hear the magnificent sound of the V10-Judd !
