DLC cars when totally offline - odd

I notice that DLC cars can now be used in offline (id est, no internet connection) play. I moan a lot so it’s only fair that I post positive things when I notice them.

not working today so maybe not fixed; don’t think I’m going mad, it was working the other day

I should have tried it when I saw the OP just for confirmation but I didn’t. Now we’ll never know

I totally believe you, and iirc told you what would happen in PM  Apparently I still jinxed it even though it wasn’t said here

Hey, maybe it’ll come back lol

ah . . . just found something . . .

it’s not possible to drive in free roam in a DLC car when totally offline

it IS possible to use a DLC car in a race when totally offline

Interesting. Makes sense I guess.

and after a race in a DLC car you stay in that DLC car

Even in free roam ? Cool !

scratch that - I am in fact going mad - need to forget what I thought I’d worked out and work it out again

Sooo… create an event lab or super 7 with a DLC car, jump into solo, do the event or super and when you’re done you can cruise in said DLC car totally offline ?

Darn, but welcome to the asylum

I have a strong memory of using DLC cars offline the other day due to a specific thing I’m doing; apparently I’ve done 73/84 exhibitions so am systematically running them all again, first offline then I’ll do them again online

I’m part of the way through the offline ones and my memory was using the Toyota ones but that could be insanity

…I believe I have 74 of 84 since forever and have been wondering if it’s just the usual birillant maths of the game, some bug, or I somehow missed 10 somethings. Pretty sure I didn’t miss any, the other two could be easily true. Let me know how it goes

I just wanted to confirm, yep 74 of 84 Horizon Exhibitions Completed for me so it looks like you missed 1 or it bugged out on you. Or just bad accounting on the game side. Good hunting :+1:

As for the other 10… ignore them

EDIT : Hmm… I just had a depressing thought. What if you find one that ticks it over to 74 of 84 for you, but, it’s a different one than my set of 74 of 84 ? Meaning there are 10 more out there that are/were glitched but can now be made to count to “correct” that annoying “incompleteness” stat. Or worse, thinking that, but it is actually just bad maths on the game’s part lol. Yeah.

if the count goes up I’ll let you know (I am checking after each race)

I know this thread is a few months old, but I’ve recently had to go offline for an unknown amount of time for work purposes. Is there a way to use purchased DLC cars offline? I thought I’d burn some time and get caught up on some liveries I’ve started, but the DLCs aren’t available there either.

it’s odd and I don’t fully understand it, not even sure whatever I’ve written about this subject is correct

all I can say for certain is that sometimes I cannot use DLC cars but often I can

perhaps there are “different kinds” of DLC cars, meaning HW and RA cars work offline as they can see the DLC is present on the Xbox but others don’t have that verification so don’t work - not sure, can test it if I remember

Thanks in advance for anything you come up with. I just went through my garage, which includes everything except those that have been added the last 3-4 weeks and the '32 Ford that comes with the FH5 controller. 45-50 cars can’t be loaded offline. Going into my console’s storage, almost all of them are listed as individual add-ons but they don’t need to be installed. I don’t get it. I would think that would mean they should be accessible since I completed the weekly events to unlock all of them. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be in my garage to choose from.

ah, one thing there - the weekly events are not DLC cars, they’re always base game cars, though it might be different for the HW and RA events - they might give rewards that are expansion-specific

the car pass cars are DLC cars, though, and they’ll appear as add-ons that don’t need to be installed (I think); I’ve not checked recently but I do have all cars

not in game right now to check

I just double-checked. All of the missing cars are either car pass, car pack items or individual add-ons that allegedly do not require installation. Being off and having a tolerable connection for my phone to serve as a hotspot this evening, I connected and received the latest update (even though it took 2 hours for 8gb). I’m going to try a few cars while I’m online and see if that changes anything offline.

Fixed. I got into all of the inaccessible cars while I was online and logged out of the game before going offline. After going back into the game while offline, I’ve been able to get into the first 6 cars that I’ve tried so far. I’ve also noticed that the cars I couldn’t get into were won/ earned but never used. Perhaps the game needed that confirmation while I was online to verify I wasn’t hacking to get to them.

okay, I’ll bear that in mind as and when I remember to do some checking; I didn’t really see any rhyme or reason in this so far but can do some checking - at least make a note of what the car is that I’m trying to use
