This game is really grating on my nerves.
It seems to happen a bit sporadically, but entirely too often, that when the race starts in multiplayer lobbies I have zero control over my vehicle. No brake, no gas, no steering. Cannot open the pause menu. If someone hits me from behind, the steering wheel (Thrustmaster TX) still provides feedback. When I pick up the controller, I can rotate the camera, but it has no other inputs either. After about a minute, I get kicked due to inactivity. I can still talk to other players when this happens. Almost every time this happens, I have to completely force the game closed (Xbox One S), and restart the game. Joining other lobbies does not fix it. Unplugging the wheel does not fix it. When the game restarts, it doesn’t even show the last race (which I got kicked from) as even having existed. It will show the last car and track I actually got to race on. It wouldn’t be so bad if it happened once in a great while, or for just one race, but it happens entirely too often, and requires me to completely restart the game to fix it. I know it isn’t a connection issue on my end, because I have a sufficiently capable internet connection and never get any network issues popping up in the HUD, except for the rare “Low Bandwidth” in a full lobby with a lot of foreign players.
Just add it to the growing list of bugs that are starting to make me disgusted by this game.
Turn10, when will the glaring issues of this game be fixed, instead of piddling around with engine sounds and replay cameras?
