I think I’ll live, if nothing else I’ll be able to get The Crew for free in a couple of days. It might be the pinnacle of mediocre racing games but at least I don’t have to work overtime to afford it, so there’s that.
Plus that mess already has a trial. Two of them in fact, so I already know what I’m getting and how it will perform. No refund, no demo, Microsoft expects me to buy their rubbish based on nothing but faith. Next thing you know we’ll be calling Phil Spencer pope.
I paid $100 for Forza Horizon 3.
An Xbox owner paid $100 for Forza Horizon 3.
The Xbox owner got a demo for a game that they know their system will be able to handle at launch.
I’m waiting and wondering if the game will even run on my system at launch or if it will be like many other horrible ports, and be a wasted, non-refundable product.
I don’t care if the FH3 demo was held back until the 22nd, all I’m asking for is equality, as someone who has purchased and played each Forza title since Forza Motorsport 3. Serves me right for selling my Xbox and building a PC after cross-play was announced.
Right now the message Playground is conveying is “let’s release a marketing demo that serves no other purpose, but ignore the people who actually need a demo to assess their ability to run the full game!”
Unfortunately, everyone is assuming that the demo will work on PC once play anywhere launches on the 13th, same as everyone assumed the launch time on the store was set in stone because no one in a official capacity said otherwise.
Just because the full version has play anywhere support, that’s no guarantee the demo will, too. Has anyone working for Microsoft, Playground, or even Turn10 mentioned that the demo is actually coming to PC? Because if not, the only assumption one can make is no PC demo.
I care less about the PC demo not being released than I do about their refusing to just tell us what’s going on. They could at least say “We’re hoping to release a PC demo but it depends on the release of Play Anywhere,” or something to that effect. I’m getting the game regardless, but clear communication feels better than the unfortunately typical Microsoft stonewalling.
Actually the Forza Twitch stream Mod did answer that question directly when asked is a Demo was coming to the PC, he said YES although he noted that he did not have a date/time, i’d guess after tomorrow’s “play-anywhere” event.
I took some screenshots (just took time to find a upload site) of the chat - the MOD is in RED (Skreamies1) with a SWORD icon and he was answering to @burnoutforzai.
Hope this helps because i’m holding out on my PC pre-order until i can get my hands on the Demo, i even deleted Forza 6: Apex this afternoon in preparation…
Think back to bamby, if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all. In a business sense, if you don’t have any good news, don’t say anything. . (Duh)
Look at what happened with the demo launch time in the msft website. It was taken like the gospel (no offense intended or implied)… it’s possible they are still testing and debugging that part (as we all know by now when games launch they need to be tweaked a little or alot)… Or they are just waiting for the announcement tomorrow. .
Remember msft is the parent company, and how often do we hear from them… (???)
Fine. Let’s say they have a good reason for running behind with the PC demo (assuming it even exists). Why wasn’t the Xbox delayed delayed along with it? We all know that if it were the other way around and the Xbox demo was the one running late, they’d delay the PC demo without hesitation.
