Can I upload a harmless photo of my car without getting banned?
Just watched a YouTuber do it and he got banned for 7 days.

Yes but the photo doesn’t go against any guidelines or violate the TOS. But said YouTube got banned for it hence why I’m weary, don’t wanna get banned for no reason.
Yeh but what do you consider harmless
Any of those vans which seem harmless but are promoting pedophilia will get you banned

I think more context is necessary. How would uploading a picture of a car cause a ban?

Without more information, the safe assumption is that the YTer actually got banned for something else.

I suspect this is the Pixel/Shinyodd video. I guess it is the rising sun design on the front arch and that someone probably flagged (pun not intended) it as offensive and Forza’s system automatically banned him for seven days.
Yeah, that was my thought as well, and one of the commenters on the video said so too.
Do they tell you why or how your content is offensive? Or try to contact you to explain it? Or do they just ban you out of the blue? I generally try not to get banned, so I don’t actually know. If you’re going to punish somebody, that’s one thing. And it’s their platform, so they have every right to moderate it as they see fit. But you should at least let them know why, so that they know how to avoid it again.
I mean, some content is obvious, and they’re probably tired of having to explain to trolls and other deliberate provocateurs who really should know better why something is offensive. But something like the rising sun, even I only found out this past year that it was considered offensive in some parts of Asia, and I wouldn’t expect a user in the west to automatically know. Take it down and give the guy a warning, or at least explain why he’s getting a ban.
Ah I see now, like I give friendly reminders on Forza that the actions they’re doing can get banned. But I just get told to F off haha.
They most likely use an automated system that picks out designs that might be offensive. It can always happen that a design get noticed as offensive even though it’s not. Best i can imagine then to do is for the person effected by it to report it himself to forza. Your post does not include enough information to judge even for forza why the person has been banned.
Overal i’m glad with this automated ban system. Even though mistakes may happen. Much better then seeing people with nazi symbols in games like gta.
