The recent developments in FM5 regarding the now free in-game DLC cars made me curious so I crunched some numbers that I found interesting so I thought I would share them…

Fact #1: As of today, there have been a total of 74 DLC cars released (Top Gear, RA Booster, Alpinestars, Smoking Tire, Honda, IGN, LaFerrari, VIP, LCE, Day One, Audi R8 FM, McLaren MP4-12C FM, Moutain Dew #88 Camaro ZL1)

Fact #2: 5 of the 74 cars (Chaparral 2E, Toyota GT-ONE, Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage, LaFerrari) were already given to players free of charge in-game via DLC purchase

Working with these numbers I made the following calculations:

Assuming that you own all of the DLC, we will receive 69 additional cars in-game for free totaling 21,218,000cr! That’s awesome!

On the flip side and unfortunately for me, I already have purchased 36 of the 69 DLC cars which is 52.1% and in terms of credits (assuming they were all purchased at the current price point even though many of them were not) it is a total purchase price of 4,614,000cr or 21.7%.

Since there is no option to sell cars back to the game my “bang for your buck” is somewhat decreased, but it is still a pretty great development for the franchise moving forward.

so I am curious, for those of you interested in the numbers, how many of the DLC cars that are now free in-game everyone else has already purchased?

It was NOT gifted out… sorry for the confusion.

I just threw it in as an “assumed” would be gift had the changes not taken place to have continuity. Selected purely as it was the “cover/headline” car for the pack.

I own mutiples of every car and 50 million. At this point credits mean nothing. I buy cars just to save my tunes.

I have every car in my garage and dozens of duplicates. Racing 10+ lap MP races with 10+ drivers in the race really brings in the credits.

I had already bought 25 of the free dlc cars,but i down loaded them again just for a different class car,its a long story but i now have 3 free Birdcages.

Were car pass owners gifted a chapparal? If so I did not get one. Doesn’t bother me because I bought one free.

There is no need for Turn10 to gift car pass owners with a car anymore now that every DLC car can be purchased for FREE one time

True but the OP said it was gifted. I am just querying that rather than complaining that I did not get one.

If they did gift them out I didn’t get one either. I assume they aren’t doing that anymore though anyway.

It would certainly make sense. I guess the question is for the OP - were they gifted one or is that part of the OP a mistake.

im not sure i agree i dont really like the idea of no having to earn the money to purchase the cars.

i would have agreed with you 100% back when i was playing forza 3, but with turn 10 allowing people to spend real money to get cars now, i can see why giving away dlc cars is a good idea.

All of them except the 250 california. Needless to say, I don’t like the new dlc cars are free now thing lol.

I wouldn’t mind so much if you could select your preferred cars for online racing I’ve now got quite a few and hunting through them takes a while.

I also have almost every car. And boat loads of credits. This kinda makes that 20 bucks I spent for VIP useless since I never use that hopper or the cars.
