Critique my Nissan R34 RWD S-class tune

Hello,

I am looking for feedback on a recent tune I made for a RWD Nissan R34. My goal with this tune is to get it running 1:48.5s around Catalunya GP in S-class. Currently, I can get the car to run 1:49.2-5s. So, I’m looking to shave off about half a second a lap. I know the car can do it, but I’m not the greatest tuner and no one seems to have tunes for a RWD R34.

I made this tune with normal steering and TCS on.

All feedback is appreciated!

My first impressions are fairly good. Although slower corners can feel a little awkward and lazy, you’ve got a decent overall base to work from. Using your tune the best lap time I could get was a 1:50.6

Tyre pressure I would consider dropping to 28 front and rear although not the most important thing.

The final drive can be taken be extended to use 5th as your highest gear.

Camber, toe and caster are a little more important. Camber I tend to have set a little higher and a little more even front to rear. I’d try -1.5 initially on camber, toe I always have at 0.0 and caster I set to 7.0. With your settings as they are. The caster is quite low and this can allow you to add more camber. As many of the corners at Catalunya are relatively low speed this additional camber should help you out.

I’ve used stiffer springs but softer damping in my tune. The softer damping I found helped me ride kerbs a little bit more and helped power application on exit.

Lowering the diff settings also helped me get power on a little easier.

My tune - 1:49.5

Tyres - 28.0
Gearing - FD 3.25
Camber - Front -1.3, Rear -1.5
Toe - 0.0
Caster - 7.0
ARB - Front 21.17, Rear 15.05
Springs - Front 579.3, Rear 627.6
Ride Height - 6.6
Rebound - Front 5.7, Rear 5.3
Bump - Front 2.8, Rear 2.6
Aero - Front 100, Rear 255
Braking - 51% 170%
Diff - 30% 20%

I hope some of this can be of use to you. You’re definitely doing well as it is to get that 49.2. Catalunya isn’t my best track in all fairness. Best of luck for the 48s
