I’m expecting the Ford F-100 to start showing up all over the D class leader boards. Crav’s is awesome on the big tracks. Foot & Raceboy both have excellent tunes for most tracks but for the really small tracks like Alps Club and Road America west I give you a supercharged 5.0L on race tires that grips better than most C class cars. Camber, Bump, and Brake Bias all turned out a little different on this one.

Holds my pb on:
Alps Club (primary tuning track - no assists/sim steering)
Alps Club - R (needs more speed)
Cat School (still not working the best on this track)
Long Beach - West
Road America - West
Road America - West - Alt (My highest LB time in all of FM5 excluding Oval/Drag @ #252 1:38.507)
Road Atlanta Club - (Still occasionally lifting the inside tires through the Esses)
Hanging with the Mini’s in the D Lobbies - Enjoy,

this is certainly a fun truck to chase through the lbs crash !!! i will be sure to build this up and see what it can do
Reaper - definitely looking forward to see what it is capable of in better hands. I just realized that most pb’s were set before I added the extra tire for a little bit less drag at Road America. If you do end up building it I’d be interested in your thoughts on full front & rear aero and/or the roll cage for maximum grip at Cat School. I feel like it needs more acceleration instead of grip since more grip just seems to make it lift the inside too much.
Thanks,
Crash
Crash – I am not a good driver, yet, will give this a try! Thanks for sharing!
RPKid - your catching up fast! I wont be surprised when you pass my ghost.
Crash – on your build…you can get an extra 21 lbs off, get the RACE Driveline, no extra tire, and, lighter rims (ex. Classic, ATS). Will tune and test out now w/lower weight!
***UPDATE: If you add the front aero adj, you can further reduce weight, thus, getting the aero for just +1 lb for additional handling if needed.
Performed a quick run at RA W and had a 1:38.428 (with version “as-is” with weight reduced, NO front aero)…and, could get a 1:34, yet, dirty lap. Of course, this is with my bad driving skills, lol. Really nice job on this tune Crash! You should get another PB if you get the weight down. Good luck!
well as i said i was going to build this truck , using what you have supplied i managed a 1:38.137 on Road america west while in test/tune mode. this truck handles superb! . no issues getting it to turn, good brake setup does not bit you if you want to jump on the throttle mid turn.
it is as you posted it will out handle some C class cars, but there is one thing that holds it back acceleration and top end. IMO toss the race tires aside get a sport trans and try to get a bit more speed out of it.
right now this is a great lobby tune and i thankyou for sharing it !! i hope to see more of your tunes in the future
@PRKid - Thanks for the review and identifying my math error, OP corrected to 21 lb. I was originally going for full aero and grip at Alps Club but with only 265 hp acceleration and top end was awful. The more I turned down the aero the faster it was so I went no aero but kept the rear at effectively stock settings for balance and the 3 PI it saved. I’m surprised you are faster with the lighter truck, it was at RA-west that I picked up 2 sec with the tire all on the long strait following the kink. I ran a 1:27/7xx in a test set but can’t seem to duplicate for score, AHHhhhh…
@Reaper Mech - Thank you as well. It’s great to get feedback, god and bad. Concur with the anemic performance but there doesn’t seem to be any more efficient ways to add power without an engine swap so the race tires were effectively free. What it really needs is the 5.7L and possibly the CS but there are at least 3 other open source versions built that way so I’ll think I’ll just grab theirs or one of your cars on the bigger tracks. I barely got a 1:30.205 to erase the pb I set at RA-west trying out FOOT’s truck so I’m calling this one done.
Are your guys times at RA-west or RA-west-ALT (bend or kink)? I can’t believe either of your are 8 sec back.
Crash
What assists did you use? I have none, and, it is a little slippery (depending on the speed you are pushing) at the turns, lol…so…I tend to slow down! Darn, forgot where I ran it…beverages anyone? Will repost!
Again, thanks for sharing Crash!
NO Assists but I recently turned the braking line back on. I turned it off and picked up a few seconds on every track because I stopped following it and getting too slow. I put it back on in a lobby on an unfamiliar track and forgot to turn if off for a while. I found that it compensated for the lack of deceleration cuing you would normally get from your inner ear. Now I use the track for primary cues and the line as a backup since it lets me run closer to the limit.
Time to make another run to the fridge for another round
Crash
Yeah, one more won’t hurt…lol! I have been back and forth on the braking asset trying to figure out what is best…more to learn I guess. Not to mention, the VIEW…most of the top racers use 3rd person far view, and, I use cockpit. I did try hood and bumper the other dat for several laps with the Veneno and it was pretty cool, yet, hard to switch back/forth.
Have a great weekend Crash!
i ran at road america west alt in test/tune
That sounds about right. Always JUST in reach but out in front
