Cosmetic Options

I know it’ll probably never happen because it seems like too much for them to do, considering everything they already put into the game, but when painting or adding decals it would be really nice if you could select specific body panels. For instance the rear quarter fender or door panels or the roof or the hood or trunk etc etc etc. Its a pain when you want the look of a carbon fiber hood and the top-view includes parts of the fender panels.

Also, I might be the only one who wants it, but having license plate options would be cool. Like turning your own on/off, having different country plates and randomizing the letters/numbers on them. Seeing hundreds/thousands of cars a day that all have license plates gets you very used to it. I know its just a video game but its also open world, and it just seems weird to have cars without license plates; I honestly kinda hate that look. I get the license plate vinyl groups from the storefronts to put on most of my cars because it just looks that much more complete to me. And it would just make things a whole lot easier.

If you want the look of a carbon fiber hood, just use the carbon fiber paint.
But yeah, it would be nice to be able to just paint one panel at a time. That would make it a lot easier to make rust on a car.

They could actually just have the different plate shapes (US, EU, Japan, and all that jazz) without a design on it, and just let you apply vynil groups to it and move the letters and numbers.
That way, they wouldn’t have to make a million different plates, and you wouldn’t have to use an outdated plate, because people would make the plates themselves.
I already paint them on cars in Forza 5, so having the ability to put an actual three-dimensional license plate on my cars would be pretty rad.

I like these ideas. I’d like to go one further and suggest the vinyls themselves should also have selectable textures, allowing us to put matte stripes on a glossy car (as an example).

Agreed. Would make it easy to make Chrome fuel doors

I would also like to see the ability to paint certain parts. Having a carbon fiber trunk, roof, or fenders would be cool.

Oh. And being able to do separate coats of paint would be nice. Its hard to get a good Midnight Purple on a Skyline with just the dual chromatic. Not a huge thing and it probably wouldn’t get used too often but it would be nice.

I second the option for license plates. The ability to select state or country and then enter the numbers would be great. I would assume though that the plate style would default to Italian or French style plates given the game setting.

One thing I’ve always wanted is the ability to add a string of numbers (or letters) into a vinyl and not have to add them one by one and then group them.

The first thing I do to every car I own is put on a license plate. Definitely needs to be more options like this, and window vinyl too

I have to second the window vinyl movement. Ever since I played NFS ProStreet, this is one of the graphic features I think Forza has really missed out on. Being able to either select the window panes as a separate panel or just including them as part of the Left Side/Right Side/Top+Hood surfaces would be wonderful in my opinion, seeing as it’s done so much with stickers these days (Just look at the RTR-X; it’s a prime example) and would add just that little bit extra realism to customization. On the topic of Painting individual panels, I certainly think there should be that option for those who want it, but speaking as someone who normally doesn’t focus too much on individual panelling, I would personally preserve the ability to paint the entire side of a car as well.

please do this its a must give us the option to put stickers on the windows . pas it on my peoples

I don’t see this happening. Can see this putting a lot more demand on the graphics engine when in cockpit view if the windscreen is covered with stickers.

This has been requested in the wish list thread at some point, but there’s nothing stopping them from putting stickers on the side windows. The windshield would be a little difficult because the stickers obscuring the view, but they shouldn’t affect the graphical performance of the game. Stickers are static objects on the windshield. That said, stickers on the windshield don’t make as much sense even though I’ve seen the rare car that does have them.

Why do people make threads about what they want instead of posting on the wishlist thread?

Just wondering, would it be too much to ask if we could put stickers on windows? For example, my dad has a 72 Nova drag car with two small stickers on the back-seat crank windows “NHRA” and “Flowmaster” Also, can we please put stickers on crome bumpers? I have a small Flowmaster sticker on my 94 Silverado. So why not make it realistic? Anyone agree?
Just an idea though.

That would be nice to allow decals on the windows. I’m pretty sure most motorsports cars with windows have decals somewhere on them.

My dads Nova still has the number “35” on the driver side window from the drag strip last week. It gets kinda hard to sqweeze decals in on Forza with the limited space.

I would love to be able to put decals on windows. I have so many nice decals but they don’t look as good on a regular panel. The true JDM look doesn’t just have body panel stickers. Also a cool thing would to be able to choose your own exhaust. Sound/style and what not. I know the upgrades on my engine would have a huge restriction in flow if we keep that tiny little exhaust. Its not a real flow if we keep the stock exhaust. I know there is an option but it didn’t change how the exhaust looks, just adds HP and torque. Thank you!
