Is there anyway to keep the hand controller on when using a racing wheel with the headset plugged into the controller?
I’m using the Thrustmaster 458 Spider wheel with headset plugged into the hand controller.

Try keeping the controller plugged into the console. If it’s wireless it will shut off by itself if not used.
yes - connect your controller using the USB port. When it’s wireless the controller shuts off. I bought a USB extension cable to reach my wheel and chair.
Thanks for the replies.
I will try to find a USB cord for the controller.
I have the Thrustmaster TX and it seems to only work if I do it in this order…
Turn on the Xbox with the wheel plugged in. Don’t turn on the controller yet.
Start up the game and choose your profile (if given the option).
Once the game is going and you can navigate the menus with the wheel, turn on the controller.
Use another one of the USB ports on the Xbox to plug into the controller. USB extension cables are cheap.
If you want to join a party or chat, use the controller connected to your headset to join.
As long as it all stays plugged in, you should not have any powering down issues.
If I play another game with the wheel, I need to restart the Xbox and do the same thing.
I bought a battery charge kit at Best Buy with a USB cable and installed the rechargable battery with the cable connected to the XBOX.
Plugged my new Headset into the controller. Worked OK for 30 laps on daytona, so I should be OK.
I had to turn up the Audio Volume in the Xbox to get it loud enough to hear messages.
