From the known issues page, FH5 Known Issues – Forza Support (forzamotorsport.net)

  • Controller - Vibration Feedback, haptic and rumble, stops working between events and races also when disconnected/reconnected until restart (Date Updated: 2.28.22)
  • Controller - Title switches between Keyboard and controller for input overriding player choice. (Date Updated: 03.04.22).

For me this is entirely caused by using the Game Bar for messaging or whatever. 100% success rate in causing the above issues. My fix - don’t use the Game Bar.
I’m posting this mainly in the hope that it may be passed on to PG to give them a bit of a clue where the problem lies. There’s no mention that the Game Bar causes it which I know it does.
Hopefully it will be fixed so we can use a Microsoft software feature with a Microsoft owned game.

I get this same issue when I use the game bar to accept an invite, join a convoy.
My work-around for now is to go into control settings, select a different wheel profile, then back to my original profile. Then it works again.
Windows 10, old G27 wheel.

I use game bar and get the same issue. I just alt tab to another app & back again and rumble returns.
