Just downloaded a patch for X1X (160MB) that seems to have corrected the Car Mastery issue. I spent SP on a car, restarted the game (and console) and the perks remained.
It did not return any of my pre-patch perks. PGG is still looking at ‘compensation’.
This just in from Twitter. 10 Super wheel spins for all affected. They are looking at how to restore lost perks before or when Series 10 rolls out.
So… now everyone is going to be wondering… Do I buy my perks I used to have NOW so I can benefit from them NOW, or wait a month or longer, and then what happens when the perk restoration patch rolls out…? Will I have just wasted a bunch more points on perks I will eventually get back…?
What will we all do??? It’s the end of the wooooooorld!!!
I have lost track of how many super wheel spins I’ve had with 25k/5k/10k. I spun three super wheel spins recently and got only cash from them with a sum total of less than 150k. Quite ironic that the very next normal wheel spin prize was 195k. Go figure.
So 10 x super wheel spins for those who already have all the clothing/horns/emotes will probably give you a total prize pot of between 500k and cr1,000,000 and maybe a rare-ish car you already have.
I also downloaded the Series 9 update but never booted the game. Just now, I’ve downloaded the new update and checked several of my cars and I can confirm that they still have their perks. It’s safe now.
I used the same way, never start my xbox since the main update, on my pc, my second accout had the issue, but after the friday fix, I logon with my xbox main accout and can confirm all my perks are there, even after restart.
(Assuming) The latest patch stops you from losing car mastery. So basically, you can use them now. However, every car that lost perks is simply lost. They will replenish the lost points back to your account when Series 10 comes around. Notice in their tweet, they didn’t say the perks will go back to the cars you used them on, it states “lost Skill Points”.
“The Car Mastery Skill Points fix is now live in #ForzaHorizon4. We are now working on a fix to return all players’ lost Skill Points. We are expecting this fix to be live with or before the Series 10 update.”
So it sounds like we won’t get our perks back on the cars, they’re just going to give the skill points back for us to put them on the cars ourselves. This will take a very long long time for some players plus the fact we have wait up to a month for this. What happens if you earned more skills points than the 999 cap, will they increase the cap if you earned over 999 points? 10 super wheel spins is mediocre, I have had loads of them buying the houses and working through the playlist. Most of the time, my prizes have been terrible. I’ve won mostly 2,000 credits, 5,000 credits and some clothing which I have absolutely no interest in collecting. Will not be preordering another forza game in the future.
Edit- just thinking about the 50 car mastery’s points on the rewards system, I had 19 but now can’t remember what cars with 8 perks that I had maxed to get the car masteries. Will getting back the skill points for me to add onto cars with 8 perks myself add onto the existing 19 that I have at the moment??
Apology and saying thank you for being patient are the same thing.
I don’t get this “apology” thing either. They didn’t do it with malice intent. There’s thousands and thousands of lines of code, one mistake can mess a lot of things up. If coding were easy this wouldn’t have happened. But it happens. TDU2 had tons of updates that messed things up. At one point they shut down the MP servers it was so bad. We’re talking about skill points. You can still start the game, play, and get on MP. if anything, you get money, cars and more now.
They might increase the cap. That’s the easiest way I can think of to do it. That might be why that part of the fix is still being worked on, possibly as late as next month.
Reapplying all the perks is better than loosing them all and having to grind for them again. Also better than spending skillpoints on a perk you already had, only to have that perk restored. Plus, we’d theoretically get to reuse all the wheelspin and cash perks. So there’s that. Best case scenario, really, from a certain point of view. 10 super wheelspins is just gravy.
