I have managed to replicate a memory leak , i used an on screen display with msi afterburner keeping an eye on the ram usage and when cycling through all the rims there is a small increase in ram usage which never goes down as you go from rim to rim (which happens to cause a small stutter as you go through them) .
Can someone else do the same and keep an eye on the ram usage to see if its a widespread issue please .
Keep pressing left or right on the rim selection so you cycle through them and youll see the leak .
I can also confirm the crashes i had so far have been all been with ram usage at its limit so apart from the rim selection menu there seem to be leaks in other areas too .
My pc :
windows 10 home latest verison
i7 4790k stock speeds
nvidia gtx 1070 stock speeds latest drivers
16gb ddr3 @ 1866
game running on a dedicated 525gb crucial mx300 ssd
I also had the same issues with rims and aero parts.
Aero parts, it crashes once a while. But for rims, it just crashes almost every single time while scrolling thru parts.
So I dont even bother messing with the rims now.
Yeah , game shouldnt be released with something like this hope they fix issues soon and not having to wait for months like we did with horizon 3 on pc , that game was a mess on release too but at least forza 7 runs fine (for me at least) .
But yeah for now sounds like a plan to avoid rim selection and upgrading screen ,(puts tinfoil hat on) maybe thats why they restrict us with homologations , its because the upgrading menu is broken and they want us to avoid it XD
Yep getting crashes on paint screen, mainly when I’m customizing paint colour, if I swing between different colours too much the game will CTD with no warning, same for selecting wheels. Just chiming in to further this, hope it gets looked at soon, gets tiring trying to tweak colours when you crash if you tweak it too much.
i5 4690k, 16gb DDR3, GTX970. Have never had so many issues with other games in the past.
I’ve seen the memory leak when buying cars too. Usually the usage goes down after I leave that section, but I just had a memory leak follow me from paint into a race and crash the game. I have 16gb, so that’s quite a lot to use.
Same issue, easily seen in performance monitor when painting. The easiest way is to chose metal flake, chose a base color and navigate the menu from left to right. It fills the memory really fast and crash.
I can also confirm that the memory leak is an issue.
With 34gb of ram, it takes longer, but it’s crashed out before while browsing rims, and it builds up until it crashes during racing.
There’s two tracks I’ve seen that will give you a warning that you’re on the verge of a crash due to memory usage.
For some reason, half of the grandstands, walls, and random miscellaneous infield objects at Indianapolis will flash as I approach them, and Daytona at night has given me minor flashing objects, aswell.
I wonder if this also has anything to do with the never-ending saving loop every other time I buy a car, or exit out of the paint shop?
Oddly enough, if I restart my game during a Saving Loop, the save actually worked, so it’s good I don’t lose my progress. Just a PITA having to restart the game every half hour to an hour, if I’m working on my cars…
I understand that we haven’t even gotten our first update yet, and like most games, the early stages are always full of bugs that is quickly fixed in the first couple of patches.
PC Specs
Windows 10 Home Edition 64-bit
Intel Core i5 4670 @ 3.40GHz
MSi GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6
32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 932MHz
All graphics and details are set to to highest setting, and I’m getting a smooth 60fps+vsync @ 1080p
It was working “fine” up until latest update, now it’s crashing much more often and micro freezes are more intense, i think they tried to fix all the “glitches” by introducing new ones, what a horrible mess
I thought finally i can play my forza on pc and got rid of xbox altogether cause it was the only m$ exclusive i ever cared about and they done screwed up this more than they did FH3, no wonder this game is not on steam cause it’s more or less in the same mess as Batman Arkham Knight and should be recalled until properly finished
Yep ram fills up browsing menus and eventually crashes. Still no fix or words from the devs? If this isn’t fixed soon I’m going to be asking for a refund. A first for this series…
