Hey guys, want to get better with the clutch
i see a lot of suggestion on line to switch the clutch and handbrake, but i also want to drift, so its just as clumsy if not more clumsy because of the frequent and quick switching between hand brake and foot brake.
is it feasible to learn to use my left middle finger for the break and index finger for the clutch?
im thinking ill just start with E class and practice until i get comfortable and move up through each class this way.
would i just be wasting my time?
learning to use the clutch feels like starting from square 1 haha, but i know it’ll be worth it if i can get it
I position my index finger in a way I can brake and press the clutch and the same time. No button switching needed
can you release the clutch without releasing the brake that way?
While I understand not everyone can swing the cost, going with an elite controller or aftermarket like the Wildcat where you can map a bottom button is a great way to do it.
i might have to look into that. i play on PC, elite controller works for PC too right?
I was literally just thinking a button on the bottom where my middle finger rests would be perfect.
I paid up for an Elite at the weekend. Amazing piece of kit and well worth the price imo. I set the left two paddles to clutch/downshift, and the right two paddles to clutch/upshift. With the left trigger locked too, I now run no assists at all and can post on the hardcore leaderboards.
A clutch, B Shift UP and X Shift down. Layout 1, switch handbrake with clutch. So A&B shift up and A&X shift down. Just press between the buttons.
like i said in my original post, this is even more clumsy for drifting because of the heavy reliance on the handbrake in drifting. this method works okay for racing, but not for drifting
