Changing League Division?

Right now I am in Pinnacle, but I am a back marker. I’m lucky to finish in the top 10, but I’m usually last. My friend are all in Elite and I just want to race with them in the league, how can I get knocked down to Elite? I don’t know why I am in Pinnacle in the first place, I’m just as fast as my friends who are in Elite but I’m in Pinnacle for some reason. Because of this I haven’t raced in a league in two weeks and the one’s before that I barely participated. It’s just not fun, having no shot at all to even fight for a decent spot. I’m like the Manor Marussia of Pinnacle Division. I don’t want to be Will Stevens anymore!

Help!

Interesting… I just started Leagues last week and was placed immediately in Pro. I played just two nights and was basically cleaning up on my second night. So I’ve been moved to Elite where I expect I will get my behind handed to me now (especially with the limited practice I do).

I don’t have an answers on how you can move down but I’m basically bumping your thread as I might need to know this :).

(perhaps you moved to pinnacle because you played more than your friends and scored more points? Or just had slightly better lap times to put you over the threshold???)

My guess would be to race in the league anyhow. If your lap times are that far off then I think you would be moved back down next week. It happened to me the first time I made elite. I was terrible and only near the end of the week did I start placing better than 15th in 18-20 player lobbies. The next week I was back in professional league. I am now back in elite division for the past two weeks and doing better. I guess at the end of the day, getting bumped down actually made me desire to be better. I’m still always to passive in collision league (mid pack) but run top 5 in ghost with clean laps.
Good luck.

ever since the 2nd week of release I’ve been in Pinnacle. The first week I won my league out right, but that was grassroots. I went straight to Pinnacle. In pinnacle I am dead last almost always, it’s jsut not even fun. I’ll run a few more races in the current leagues and just put around see if I can force my way into Elite. I wish a developer would explain the way the game ranks you. It’s weird that my friends in Elite have some faster lap times than me on tracks and in different classes but I’m above them in Division. Like you said there must be something that just bumped me over the threshold.

I’m assuming there is a minimum participation in order for the game to even consider what division I should be. I just wish I knew what that was.

I’m curious how division is determined as well. Overall leaderboard? Trueskill ranking based on who you finish ahead of?

Whatever method is used, it would be cool if we could all see that list somewhere. A way for us to track our ranking. Would add some more incentive to keep playing.

I got moved into pinnacle and only did 2 or 3 races due to time, it moved me back into elite the week after due to my leaderboard standing I assume

Yeah I got moved to pinnacle and placed in the bottom five in five races. Haven’t played in a couple of weeks due to binging on Halo 5, but I checked if I dropped down and I’m still in pinnacle. I just want to get back in elite where I have a chance at a podium finish and to race with my friend again

Exactly where I’m at.

I, like many others, would like to hear an official explanation as to how players are set in the divisions in league mode.

I am currently placed in the Pinnacle division and I’m stating to loose all interest in racing because I’m so far off the pace. When I was racing in Elite division races I would be regularly be fighting for a place in the top 5 in a large lobby. Some tracks I was better than others and the same with the competitiveness of different cars. But since I’ve been “promoted” to Pinnacle, I find myself fighting not to finish last and I’m usually 4-6 seconds per lap slower than the front runners.

Due to constantly being used as a brake by other people, I find the only way I can get any enjoyment from this game is to race in the ghost races where I don’t have to worry what other people are doing. I usually race online with PC based sims in organised leagues, so I guess my expectations of clean racing might be higher than what most people expect on a console game.

I’m not sure how it worked. I think it has to do with track times. In e class ghost I was in elite. I was consistently putting down top 100 track times and got promoted to pinnacle

There seems to be less players in pinnacle and man are they fast. Ocassioanlly I hang (c class was descent. Mid pack average. Won once, couple of podiums and a few last place finishes. )

If your like me you need to be in the best car(s) tune for the track and practice in them. You are racing against some of the best in Forza. So that means practice. It’s awe fully rewarding to when it all comes together. Preparation and practice is the key.

Elite was a bit easier. I could experiment in the league. If I was in the best car/tune for the track I was pretty always podium. And I didn’t feel so “stage frightened” (not sure if that’s the right word) when running in elite with collisions versus pinnacle. In the lower classes I think I can run in pinnacle. It’s extremely challenging. But must admit it was nice to have a chance to win in elite.

Got bumped up to pinnacle two weeks ago and I am trying so hard not to be last every race. Guess I’ll either get faster or get bumped back down to elite.

Sounds a bit like “Middlesbrough.” That would be the football team who do well in the Championship get promoted and then get relegated a season or two after. Rinse and Repeat. Apologies to any Boro fans.

I found the same too. Elite can be too quick for me and I don’t mind finishing near the back if I feel I’ve competed. I think some of the grading might be based on how clean you race and your lap times in Rivals. Those saying practice and find a best car per track have it right.
