Change Racing will return to IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition in 2017 with a significant new commercial partnership, a young full-season driver pairing and a strong endurance event driver line up.
The GTD Class campaign marks the second season of WeatherTech Championship competition for Change Racing, which built on a highly successful Lamborghini Super Trofeo program with its initial foray into IMSA in 2016. The team will continue to compete with the Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 platform in 2017.
As the result of an expanding partnership with Microsoft, Change Racing will carry branding from Forza Motorsport, the hugely popular and best-selling racing video game from Turn 10 Studios for Xbox consoles. The partnership will be supported by a range of marketing activations as well as featuring in-game content from Change Racing, including the ability for players to download the No. 16 Forza Motorsport/Orion/Monster Energy GTD car for in game play.

Forza @ Daytona
A very special livery will be appearing at this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona race. The Change Racing team will be running its Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 in the GTD Class, featuring a Forza Motorsport livery designed by our own Ayo Jube! The duo of American Corey Lewis and Dutchman Jeroen Mul will share driving duties of the Change Racing Huracàn, which will see action at Daytona this season as part of the IMSA WeatherTech series, as well as at the Sebring 12 Hour, Watkins Glen 6 Hour, and Petit Le Mans. In addition, we’ll be bringing the liveried version of the Huracàn GT3 to Forza Horizon 3 in the future, so be on the lookout for that.
This year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona will take place on January 28 – 29.
Maybe they’ll remember to actually put this car in the game…

I’ll believe it when I see it!
Can I borrow your crystal ball for tonights lottery numbers?
Seems you’ve predicted it, they didn’t add the car to the game. They added a livery.

No crystal ball, just looking at a pattern of behavior…

That’s a cracker isn’t. People make mistakes but surely they should have learned from the Subaru 75 fiasco. To have made the same mistake again would be unprofessional at best.

And it is just the basic livery of the Change racing scheme, just with the racing number panel(without the weathertech names or logos) and no other branding apart from the Forza Motorsport logos, not sure the hype was worth it to be honest.

They couldn’t use the full livery as they didn’t have permission to use the other sponsors names on the livery,
It was a free livery they shouldn’t have issues with copyright on using logos of sponsors, without them it just looks like a lazy paintjob just to get in on the hype for Daytona(hence why we didn’t get an actual Huracan GT3 with an accurate Change Racing livery).

You have to ask permission to use someone else’s logo whether you are charging for it or giving it away free. The livery was finished a while ago so I don’t think it was a rush job either.
Maybe get all of that ironed out before making an announcement? Thy end up looking like amateurs…

Hopefully this means they’ll bring back the GT class structure that was in the 360 Forzas.
In addition, as a celebration of this weekend’s race, today we’re sending out the Lamborghini Huracàn Squadra Corse car featuring the Change Racing GT3 livery in both Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 3.
So per Mechberg in the livestream, this is the 2015 Lamborghini #63 Squadra Corse Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo from the Motorsport All-Stars DLC with the GT3 livery applied.

We should’ve known they’d take the lazy way out.

That goes directly against what is stated in the original press release at the top of this thread, which mentions that the GTD car will be given out.
Freebies are always appreciated of course but somebody clearly hasn’t gotten their facts right as the car from the initial announcement and the one given to players are not one and the same.

How do you know the real Huracan GT3 is supposed to be released based on those press releases? Remember T10 is a master of PR double speak so saying one thing which implies what it says but they actually mean something else, which could but the case here and I think it is the case until they say “Hey Forza community the Huracan GT3 in Change Racing livery as seen at the 2017 Rolex 24 in GTD is now available to download for Forza Horizon 3” then I will believe what we have now is the only Change racing liveried car we will get.

I’d expect a press release to give accurate information.
Then again, I’d expect the Ultimate Edition of a game to contain everything that game has to offer without any further DLC

Or expect a Car Pass to include all the Car Packs.
Or the Expansion Pass to include all the Expansions (Jury’s still out on that one).
Either way, they word them in such a way that to the average person who doesn’t know what this company is like will fall for it.

Got it, but I can’t use it…
Edit: Nevermind, someone told me I need the VIP membership…
Not even 10 minutes into the 24h of Daytona and this car is already out due to driver error. Maybe don’t add this car in the game, it would be bad Forza advertising.
Instead give us the Lexus, BMW and Acura GT cars, much better choices!
