I have decided to compile this Report all into one Mega-Post as they all share similar problems relating to a difference in their Hitboxes and Visual Models.
If the Forum Staff would like me to separate this into 21 Different Posts then I can do so when I have the opportunity.
Most Videos courtesy of Saenu, Discord Video Host Links are used as they’re easier to work with compared to uploading 21 individual clips.
These issues have been noticed on the following platforms:
Xbox One S
Xbox Series S
Xbox Series X
PC (Microsoft Store)
PC (Steam)
There is currently a large selection of Vehicles ingame (primarily new ones) that have some oddities in their Hitboxes which extend past the Visual Model.
These often result in Dirtied Laps in Rivals or Slowdowns in Horizon Open as part of the vehicle which you cannot see is having an impact on the terrain or world objects.
Some of these Hitboxes are primarily around the lower half of the vehicle where you’re most likely to notice it by the Wheels upon landing or attempting to climb over terrain but some also have those hitboxes extend higher to the sides where they can hit walls and the like when driving past.
This is not related to Tuning at all and is present in the Cars when Stock, when Upgraded + Untuned and when Upgraded + Tuned Properly for Off-road
No Tuning Settings related to the Suspension, Damping/Bump or Ride Height have managed to fix any of these issues unfortunately and at best have only been able to mitigate them very slightly on certain cars.
I’m unsure if the switch to a new modelling company for PGG/T10 and the subsequent unfamiliarity is to blame or if that is just a really unfortunate coincidence. The fact that multiple new vehicles which are supposed to be the highlights of each update are some of the worst affected though suggests something has changed compared to carryover content and content from last year.
All the Videos below are using a Curb on the bridge just before the Volcan Sprint Start as it’s been found to be a pretty good place to show what happens with the cars in a clear manner. The effects can be replicated in a variety of other places however and most notably in Guanajuato where there are significant elevation changes and multiple curbs all over the city.
For Reference
Here is the completely fine 2017 RAM 2500 Power Wagon as a Benchmark for what should happen:
Notice as it smoothly mounts the Curb and drives on without slowing down.
And for completely fine Cars we have the 2019 Brabham BT62, 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT-R and the 2003 Nissan Fairlady Z:
Despite the significantly lower Ride Height than the Ram and Stiffer Suspension they’re all able to navigate the Curb well. We will also see these cars handle this Bump much better than some Off-roaders below.
Cars with the Bug
Cars that are unfortunately affected in a major Way with the Bug are as follows:
• 2021 Alumi Craft #122 Class 1 Buggy
Notice how this has a very big slowdown and stutter before continuing despite the Suspension Travel.
• 2019 Casey Currie Motorsports #4402 Ultra 4 ‘Trophy Jeep’
Another violent reaction to meeting the Curb and almost coming to a Stop.
• 2019 DeBerti Ford Super Duty F-250 Lariat ‘Transformer’
Notice how this one has a shudder and a slowdown as it mounts the Curb before it continues forward.
• 2022 Extreme E (all of them)
Not as significant as the others but there’s a noticeable shudder when mounting the curb and the rear in particular causes it to slow down quite a bit.
• 2017 Ford #25 ‘Brocky’ Ultra4 Bronco RTR
This one has a significant slowdown once it hits the Curb before continuing forward.
• 2021 Forsberg Racing Nissan ‘Altimaniac’
Despite having a similar ride height to the Cars like the BT62 I showed at the Start this one experiences much more of a violent reaction when hitting the Curb and almost comes to a complete stop.
• 2022 GMC Hummer EV + Barbie Edition
Notice how it judders when it reaches the Curb and then gets pushed back and to the right a bit.
• 2015 Honda Ridgeline Baja Trophy Truck
This one doesn’t get stopped but instead it gets thrown into the Air like a Bouncy Tune has been applied directly to the front wheel.
• 1973 Hoonigan Volkswagen Baja Beetle Class 5/1600 ‘Scumbug’
This is another one that gets almost completely stopped when it hits the Curb.
• 2013 Hot Wheels Baja Bone Shaker
This is one of the more interesting ones as the Front gets kicked up while the Rear almost brings it to a halt.
• 2019 Jimco #240 Fastball Racing Spec Trophy Truck
This one receives a massive slowdown even after the Railings are removed.
• 2020 Jimco #179 Hammerhead Class 1
This is the most subtle one but it shudders a small amount as it mounts the Curb.
• 2021 Polaris RZR Pro XP Factory Racing Limited Edition
This one almost does a flip after hitting the Curb.
• 2021 Polaris RZR Pro XP Ultimate
This one has issues towards the rear of the vehicle where it seems to prematurely bottom out.
• 2020 Saleen Sportruck XR Black Label
This one basically comes to a complete stop when the rear section reaches the Curb.
• 2021 SIERRA Cars 700R
This one also nearly does a flip when it hits the Curb as well as slows down massively.
• 2021 SIERRA Cars RX3
This one comes to a stop almost when hitting the Curb.
• 1995 Toyota MR2 GT
This one also has a very violent reaction and comes to a stop on the second try.
These 3 have been fixed with the Series 23 Update but I’m keeping them here as a record
• 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series
• 2003 Nissan Donut Media 350Z “Hi Car”
• 2004 Nissan Donut Media 350Z “Low Car”
