I didn’t think I’d have to create a sound issue thread for this car but here we are:
Following the 20th century update, the sound has gotten really poor on this car. It sounds really muted up until 7k rpm and that’s when it starts to pipe up.
Is there no QC at all when car sounds are updated? Does the team not do any before/after sound tests on a surround sound system to make sure the actual sound of the car is coming out properly in all views??
Once again, a perfectly good sound ruined with an unnecessary update, just like the Supra RZ. Extremely disappointed with the way sound is being handled despite the so called “larger sound initiative” that was announced last year.
This time I strongly disagree. The previous sound had some very unpleasant frequencies that drowned the actual engine sound, and this updated sound really only needs to be a bit louder, and maybe some pitch change beyond 7.5k RPM.
The real car does not sound like a hybrid/electric between 1k and 7k revs. It’s clearly audibleecen at 2-3k revs as it’s mid engined. Engine sits right behind the driver.
Previous sample was nice, loud, and detailed. It’s almost as if they gave this car a less detailed sample with less depth.
The previous sample had you listen to dirt at all revs. Any and all details were drowned out by some weird sound frequency that was also present on the Ford GT sound. The current one is surprisingly clear.
Steelseries Arctis 3 headset. I get that it’s not the best for music that is engine sounds, but surely it can’t be just my ears acting up
I experienced none of that, it was clean, reasonably loud and the revs were audible at all ranges with the right dynamic range. Get on a surround sound system and you’ll see how they squashed the dynamic range, probably in a bid to reduce the file size.
