Career Progression

Hi all,

I drifted away from the franchise a couple years ago. I got back to it only last year when I bought Horizon 4 for the PC. I’ve really enjoyed the experience so far. Being able to select any car I wanted for any race the game offered is a big plus for me.

You see, I am really fond of one specific car brand and I generally (98+% of the time) only race cars of that brand. With the older games (I stopped at Motorsport 4 and played mostly FM3), I remember it being particularly picky about the tier and type of car you could race. You had to start at F and work your way to R1. Is it still the same with Motorsport 7? I mean, after I finish the tutorial and get some cash to buy the entry level car of the brand I’m interested in, can I just race whatever car I have to unlock credits and buy some more cars to race etc?

Thanks!

Yes, in free play, and rivals mode you can drive whatever you want, only the career mode (drivers cup) is restricted by divisions.

In career you have a list of race events that you can choose from. Some are open (meaning you can use whatever car you want) but most are not. There’s a decent variety though so you can start with fast or slower cars and you don’t have to do every event to progress to the next championship series. You can also earn credits via free play as above and you can rent any car free of charge if you do it that way.
