Anyone know if this issue has been fixed yet? Reset more than 3 times yesterday, with one try being at 50GB already… al the data gone now…
Nobody seems to care… apparently. There have been requests from someone called SOY for logs generated by typing WSCollect into a Run prompt (Windows Key + R) but no-one has the decency to post an official statement to acknowledge the issue exists and that they are looking into it.
A bit of common courtesy would go a long way to alleviating people’s frustrations. A lot of people bought the Ultimate Edition to play it on the 29th and those same people are unable to download the game. Not everyone has fast internet connections; some people like myself need a day or more to download it.
We should be a priority not an oversight IMO.

Mine seems to have installed along with the add ons today without any issues after the fifth attempt. It says everything for the ultimate edition is installed and ready to go but I have some concerns. When I look in my windows apps folder where I save all my Microsift games, there’s no sign of a Forza 7 folder and the VIP, and other car pack folders are really small (placeholders?). All the other installed Windows games have their data there (horizon 3, hot wheels, blizzard mountain, gears of war etc… The space on the hard drive is used and there is no sign of the game anywhere. Could a dev maybe help with this question? Maybe the folder is invisible or something?
UPDATE: I found the folder. It’s called Apollo. It’s the only one with 95.5gb. lol Mystery solved.

Downloaded over 1tb of games on steam and origin on my new PC. but windows store, no luck.

I have spoken to about 5 different microsoft support persons now, the latest is calling me by the wrong name. Has said my question was DUMB (yes, in all caps).
Said I own the Xbox version until I provided my order ID which shows it is for the PC.
When I asked for a refund… they sent me to 2K Interactive (a whole other publisher) to get a refund for Forza 7 there.
What on earth!?
Do you have the chat log for that? Because that’s awful.
And maybe I was just in a bad mood, but putting dumb in all caps in relation to my support question seems condescending and insulting.
Even if I bought it on Xbox, it’s a play anywhere game, it would work on PC. I own GoW 4 on X1 and play it on PC fine. I also directly purchased the game from PC… umm in fact, I bought a windows 10 PC in July when Turn 10 announced Forza 7 would be on PC for Windows 10!
So it seems if you cannot commit to downloading 95gb without pausing you cannot download the game.
Well on my 7 megabit connection, I have to pause, sorry it’s the best I can get in my area. They are rolling out NBN here, I was meant to have it Friday, but they have delayed it until 6 months time and in this time I can get random internet drop outs that last 5-10 seconds… so that would also reset my 95gb download.
So, what a shame. I loooove Forza games and I was sooo pumped for Forza 7 on PC. Bought a new PC for it and everything, bought Ultimate version. But after this disaster and with this level of service and quality. I am sorry, but money is tight for me right now, so I went for a refund. I cannot afford to drop $140 AUD on a game I cant even download.
A shame because the demo was brilliant on my PC! i7 770k and GTX1080Ti, the rain and weather was so amazing. I am hugely disappointed.
I’m sorry but at no point did they say that your question was dumb. You are reading it wrong, probably in your frustration. I’m not defending them, justifying them getting your name wrong or any of the other errors they made, but this claim is frankly rubbish. Read the image you posted.
What they said was “I am going to ask you a really DUMB question.”
They are asking you a dumb question, not that your question was dumb.

OK, then I just want to have back my Money as soon as possible… I payed about 100$ to preload ~100GB to Play at ultimate release and now I can’t download this Game ? It’s 100GB and I have a 16Mbit Connection… This are 15 hours of downloadtime and now you want to tell me I have to wait for release to download ? [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]… When there is no Cashback-option or anything else like a Voucher for a sorry then this was my last time to preorder anything else on this Microsoft-Store in future… Now Im angry I just didnt wait to buy a Keay in a Keyshop for the Standard-Version…
Why are we once again asked to pay $100 for something that does not work? by the time these issues are fixed even with my fairly fast internet connection I will lose atleast a day of gameplay. Why is this deemed acceptable? I have owned every Forza since 1 purchased special editions for each and yet again here we are with you having my money and me having to go through forums for hours to figure out what is going on.
This will be my last Forza experience.
Seriously, I wouldn’t bother trying to pre-download the game if it’s failed. It won’t work. Read the sticky at the start of this forum section.
Because the download failed or paused, which apparently is also our fault through intermittent connections, we are now being denied access to it. We will have to wait until the game is unlocked at early access launch (or official launch) and then download the full game.
What they are essentially saying is "We at MS aren’t going to bother fixing this issue so you can all wait and we hope that the launch will fix it for us. No guarantees of course. "
The thing that really gets me is that I got to over 91Gb, without a fault, and it was only when MS’s Mail and Calendar app failed to update that FM7 failed. It had nothing to do with intermittent connections, it was all their fault. Now, assuming that their ‘solution’ works I’m going to lose the first day of early access and have to leave my machine on overnight to finish the download. This also means getting little sleep as my pillow is two foot from a case fan.
I’m just flabbergasted this shit is still happening after FH3 and GoW4! They either need to completely overhaul the Windows store or put these games on Steam like everyone in the world wants.
