Why don’t you just buyout the car you listed on Auction?

Because you can’t Bid or Buyout your own auction, for obvious reasons.

Only option in these circumstances is either get a friend to buy it out or if you play on a 2nd account then buy it out from there. Depends if the car is rare and they don’t normally appear on the AH as they get bought out in a matter of seconds.

Well that’s a bit stupid that you can’t bid on your own auction but i get it.

Buying it out though is a different story and should be allowed as you are not inflating the price against another bidder, plus the auction house still gets a fee for your troubles.

Why would you want to bid on your own auction? That’s called shill bidding and is generally only used to bump up the final sale price and I think is also illegal. I know it just a game and legality isn’t much of an issue, but I suppose it could be if you were found out.

No, in answer to the OP, i thought you could just buyout the auction and get your car back that you accidentally put up for auction.

I get that you shouldn’t be allowed to bid up your auction and i didn’t think of that really when i posted my response.

A buyout though affects no one and the person who accidentally auctioned their car may get it back without a loss bar the “fee”.

On the downside it may get sniped before you get a chance.

On another note though, if sniping using bots is ok (if they are still doing it that is), then the “play fair” rule goes out the window in my books.

Was reading some stuff browsing google where people do shill auctions but it is hard to bust them if they work with friends and others to artificially inflate the price.

I suppose the other thing that would make me have a laugh about it though would be if a person doing a shill got caught out and their friend had to buy the car even though they didn’t want it…
