Title says it all
The light in the paint booth is rubbish with it’s overcast sky. Switch to painting the right in its like night. That’s fine for the track but not for the paint booth. Give us consistent all round light so we can see what we are doing properly
The lightning for the paint booth and some of the vehicle mod areas are both really bad. You can’t even see a lot of the wheels well when changing wheels, especially if they are painted a darker color. Couldn’t agree more that the lighting for painting is rubbish.
I wonder if the game shouldn’t have an exclusive background with perfect lighting for the paint booth? It doesn’t make much sense to paint in a dark garage like it is right now.
Who paints in the dark anyway lol, or on a moody day which is how its set up.
I would love to have control of a light source that we as the players could move around the car so that we can choose the level of light that we want and the angle it falls upon. Thus allowing us to use camera angles that we might not be able to use currently.
T10 please can I ask if you are using the painters from the game to test this sort of stuff? If so it might be worth using more in case there isn’t enough feedback coming in!
I cant help but think that the right community testers were not asked to help & the ones that were asked just stroked with poor feedback saying it was great? I cant believe this was never picked up on!
I find it awkward placing layer groups on one side (right side) because its so dark! I tend to put designs on the left side and then transfer from left to right because the new flip option is a wonderful thing. Not to mention painting directly onto the car is not really an option anymore which is sad, a lighting tool could change all of that! I move back and forth between taking photos in a race & layer placement sections just to check that I’m happy with the colours I’m using. The negative thing about this is that it can be a little time consuming but that’s not really a gripe, its just something to be aware of for better development in the future. Its so hard to judge how the colours will look just by using the create V Grp section.
I would also love to be able to pan the camera directly over the top of the car in Vista mode. I want to see the designs people put on the roof/hood better.
Does anyone know if these are options that can be made in an update or just something that would have to wait for a F8?
I love the paint shop, its always been such a brilliant part of the game with a great community but always feel there are some little things that can be done to help make it better. It would be great to know if any of the things we talk about are noted and taken on board by T10.
They did pick up on it. Didn’t take me five minutes to figure something was wrong…could not see where I was painting ! If they had painted more than one car they would have hit on the thought…gee maybe a paint room is in order…or at least a showroom with good lighting. We know all this…why do you keep writing like it’s your first rodeo.
I agree totally on the lighting issues. But there is a zoom feature, push down on steering stick on controller, while pushed down lean stick forward or backwards…also right stick moves front to back of car while zooming in…also works on top view of car and can be panned on specific areas in view on screen.
I wish you were right and there was a zoom feature, but there is none in the paint booth. You can zoom in and out in Forzavista but not while applying decals in the paint booth.
I’ve painted thousands of hours in every Forza game since FM5. In all of those games you can zoom in and out in the paint booth. Really surprised after all this time that people may not be aware of one of the fundamental features of all Forza paint booths.
You just can’t help yourself can you? I corrected myself. The paint booth in this version of Forza has been so buggy that when I was unable to use the zoom function, I just assumed it was another bug. I never suspected that my controller was the culprit. A new controller remedied the problem. Nuff said!
@Ryn0 … sorry if you took offense to my post. No offense was intended and my post was not aimed at anyone in particular. I was skimming through this thread and saw multiple people discussing that feature and made a comment about it … assuming it was a widely known function. I never even saw your post about your controller until just now.
I realized your car gets teleported to a different room but the lighting is just horrid, you simply can’t get the colors right unless you keep going back and forth between the track and the paint booth.
