I’m going to try to ask this in the simplest way possible since my post for asking this with a long explanation was rudely removed for no reason.
So, in FH5, when you race in events, there are different characters that sometimes give you useful information about the track and other stuff, but sometimes they start telling you about the story behind the particular car you’re driving for that specific race. When those characters are not giving me useful information, they’re just annoying.
I could lower the volume to zero for the voices, but that would prevent me from listening to them when they have to give me instructions. So my question is, is there a way to:
-
Prevent the voice characters from speaking when they don’t have anything useful to say such as you have to go to this or that place, or that there’s a sharp turn coming up, but instead telling you about the story behind a certain car and going on and on?
-
Replace certain characters that annoy you more than the rest?
I’m assuming when you mention instructions, you’re referring to the pace notes of rally events? Or, are you referring to dialogue in the story missions?
To put one example. I can’t remember the type of event, this game has so many different things that I try to focus on having fun and discovering more stuff. But I was in this race through a town in Mexico and the race was just old Beetles. Pretty cool race.
But as I’m driving, Ramiro or Rodrigo starts telling me the story of the Beetle in Mexico, and he keeps going and going until I got fed up because I already had a headache and I said screw it and closed the race and exited the game for the day. So that’s the type of interaction I want to cancel because it’s just noise, it doesn’t add anything to the race and it is very distracting. I remember the other characters doing the same at times, I just don’t remember the specific event.
Now, sometimes the same character gives you some kind of information that is important for that race or for whatever, so in that case I don’t want to mute the character.
That sounds like you’re participating in a story mission. As far as I am aware of, there is no way to disable dialogue for certain scenarios. It’s either off all the time, or on all the time. You can, however, enable subtitles, so you can still read what the characters are saying without having to listen to them.
The story missions are the only real things that have actual extended dialog throughout them. When you’re a new player you might get certain character lines when you try out a game feature for the first time, but those go away fairly quickly.
