I have cars that have less than -2.0 front and rear that have top 25’s. I’ve seen cars run pretty good with less than -1.0 front and rear. The variables are to great to try and simplify. Most likely the type of math and the resources you would need aren’t available to most of us. Trial and error is the best way. Figure it out yourself.
P.S. I have a feeling this is going to end in tears.
Foot brings a good point. This is the trend of a lot of the top tune the public get to see. Worm goes and put down Foot for making a statement that seam true. Then in fact has posted similar tunes that back up Foots statement.
So either Worm is wrong or worm is putting out junk tunes.
Lol, yup Worm is releasing bogus tunes. You guys got’em RUN WITH IT!!! I’m amazed how much dumber this place gets daily. To your own devices. I will enjoy the fireworks.
You know this how? If Foot infers, implies, suggests, alludes to the possibility that Worm is wrong based on his “very good reverse engineering skills” which are self professed as he has yet to provide any sort of proof that Worm’s settings are what he says they are, other than he feels based on his reverse engineering that he (Foot) is right. How do we know Foot can even reverse engineer? Why would you say such a thing without providing some proof? Playing the Sane game and trying to make it look like you were an innocent bystander is low, even for Foot.
Can you please stop starting and then propagating arguments in threads please? It’s getting annoying. Like 1 useful post out of 5.
Download a tune, go onto the track and hit up on the D-pad. The telemetry does clearly show the static camber angles. Or is there a factor I don’t know? Like another setting that can throw off the numbers there. I know that Caster effects camber as well but my experience is that it is only while turning.
I think the original question was about camber…and the comment about the settings not being real world. Actually, in some cases they are. It is not uncommon to have as much as 4-5 degrees of camber…but I think most have somewhere around 1 to 1.5. And yes, the goal of camber in conjunction with caster is to have as much of the tire patch on the road as possible in all facets of the lap…with an emphasis on the cornering ability.
Now this is getting interesting.
As I know both Worm and FOOT are one of the best tuners I know (both in top 10 in my books) and both above myself in fact. And I consider myself in top 20 tuner… although this is only with FM4 experience…
