Bugatti Chiron buff

Now that the car has hit 304.77mp/h will it finally be buffed or will it remain the same underpowered, worse version of the Veyron forever? Currently the car barely does 270 even with upgrades, since the car used to hit 304mph was a slightly modified version with 100 extra horsepower, different exhaust design and a modified rear wing, it wouldn’t be outlandish to suggest the in game version should be buffed to reflect this right?

Beat me to it.

Isn’t the Chirons speed limiter set to 261.2mph? That would make sense why it would barely reach 270 with upgrades.

Also, the Chiron that set the speed isn’t a production model. It has, like you said, an extra 100 horses as well as aerodynamic tweaks and different tires. The speculation is that a new “model” will be produced as a celebratory model. So maybe we’ll get that?

It’s a modified long tail Chiron, saw a rumor maybe next super sport, different diffuser and improved internals. Not the same as the base Chiron in game.

What’s the highest speed people have gotten the Chiron to with tuning in the game?

The car didn’t “hit” 300 mph. What did was their new prototype, complete with more horsepower and a longer tail for decreased drag.

Personally I’d prefer a few more pounds shed with the Race weight reduction upgrade, so it can actually reach 998 without the ugly aero.

I’d just like to be the 4th person in a row to point out to the OP, who also pointed this out, that it was a modified version of the Chiron that hit 300mph. You’re welcome.

So when we modify it in game it should do the same no? Your logic is flawed.

It was a joke. I found it amusing that so many people felt the need to tell the OP something he was already aware of. I’m glad it wasn’t lost on the one person who “liked” my attempt at humor. Whoever you are, you’re my hero.

Can you add the extended tail in game? Aero is a big part of that 300+…

Logic isn’t what is flawed here.

Also, the engine was modified 100 hp over the current Chiron. R&T article

The base Chiron is 1479 hp.

Chiron engine cannot be modified.

Only significant mods are weight reduction, suspension and tires, which don’t influence top speed very much.

A Chiron Super Sport seems more likely. I knew that Agera murdered that base Chiron. Modified or not, 300 mph is extremely impressive. I mean the Chiron does have 500 kmh on the dash, makes sense it would get there at some point. I guess now the Jesko has something to shoot for. 310 or 315 mph LOL

Bugattis engineering team said if they did the test on the Nevada road the Agera RS did their run on they could get to 320mph or so. Problem was safety teams would be too far away in the event of an accident. The Nardo tear track has safety teams positioned at both sides of the track so they most likely won’t try it on the Nevada road, maybe a customer with enough money might though.

I don’t know how much further we can push the speed. A specially designed tire made from an already specially designed tire had to be made to hit 300mph. And aerodynamics get tricky at that speed. You even so much as twitch, you’re gonna crash.

Ehra-Lessien, not Nardo. Big difference

Totally agree on the safety point and it makes perfect sense. 300 seemed impossible but now thats attainable. Someone will always try to push things a little further. The lady died last week trying to break a land record

Not just increased power and other things people already mentioned

The prototype has taller gear ratios, the original Chiron has shorter gear ratios, which is impossible to reach same speed even with speed limiter removed

And Chiron doesn’t rev like crazy ferraris or something over 9000 rpm, it’s not a VTEC any kind related, the engine would explode after redline/short gears, imagine level of stress on engine/gearbox at 490km/h

Anyway, it’s a damn prototype, not a road legal car, a car with at least 25 units built, not even started any production, just words promising a future variant

And didn’t run in both directions without tire change to validate that speed

Was a fraud promoted with Top Gear help, the only homologated record still is and remains with the Agera RS

The Agera RS only hit 284.3mph on one run. The average for 2 runs was 277.9mph. Safe to say the Bugatti could have done 300+mph the other way as well. You can say whatever you want, the Bugatti still hit 300+mph. I don’t see how that’s a fraud? Let alone one that was propagated by Top Gear.

Correction from earlier post: it’s not the Nardo test track, it’s the Ehra Lessein track.

Doesn’t matter the average speed, Koenigsegg did 2 runs and broke 5 records in one day with same tires, Bugatti didn’t!

Still a fraud, prototype, modified, not a production car or same as found in dealership, not production tires, Koenigsegg did this using a fully legal, registered 100% stock USA client car!

“You can say whatever you want”, the record remains with Agera, Guinness/FIA will not “transfer” to Bugatti deal with that!

About speed itself, the only reason Bugatti reach that speed is because Ehra Lessein, a closed track, perfect asphalt, almost in the same sea level, following earth’s curvature and less wind, forces and pressure focusing on car!

Much different than a open road in texas, less safe, with lots of little bumps and imperfections along the whole way!

And if protocols, regulations, rules, standards does not apply anymore, the first car to reach 300 mph, was a street legal Ford GT a couple of months ago, Bugatti wasn’t the first sorry!

Yeah, it hit 284, still not as fast as the Chiron prototype. A prototype which Bugatti has stated is close to production ready.

Only 11 cars were specced from the factory with the 1 MW engine. That’s not even half of the 25 you listed in your other comment.

Now you’re using track surface? Yeah, if you’re going 300+ it’s probably a good idea you do it on a closed circuit. Where’s your logic on that one?

Bugatti is/will be the first production car to hit 300mph. I’ll come back to this post when it happens. Till then, please stop using “!” so much.

It’s the same for many people, more than 1 guy/professional working in a car on a garage/factory or private company/business, but doesn’t have “the brand/name”

Doesn’t matter where was modified, the car is street legal and can drive on public roads, this Chiron prototype don’t, for now it’s a ghost car!

And yes noone cares about guinness, that’s why PG shouldn’t touch Chiron on forza like OP want, obviously it’s not the same car, so simple.

“close to production” means nothing, we’re talking about real cars

And the future Chiron SS definitely will be limited like all Bugattis, don’t expect reach 300+ mph just because you bought the car.

The tires still a real problem to permit that

@ “Only 11 cars were specced from the factory with the 1 MW engine”

you refferring to pre-sold cars, doesn’t matter 25 RS cars were built, all delivery, and Agera don’t have speed limiter

About track, where’s the logic? despite surface, put a Chiron on a public road and you’ll see less performance, you forgetting about asphalt temperatures for example and all stuff involved

don’t you get it? Ehra Lession generate less downforce, all things already mentioned affects final performance of any car

Ehra Lession is a special place, too expensive to build today in another location anywhere in the world!

Other brands doesn’t have a place like that, and are not allowed to use this VW track!

@“Bugatti is/will be the first production car to hit 300mph. I’ll come back to this post when it happens.”

Still not homologated

I’ll come back to this post when Jesko hit that mark officially, without lying for customers!

The car is real? You can go and see it if you have the right connections. What are you on?

Yeah, you can say whatever you want, but only cars specced with the 1MW option could reach that speed. Seems like not ALL of the production cars can reach that speed. That sounds like a plain lie.

Less downforce and it still hit 300 AND could still do more.

Why would anyone try a 300mph run on anything other than a prepped surface? You’d be idiotic to do otherwise.

I don’t get what you’re missing about it’s a pre-production prototype. It will be homologated as soon as production starts. God you’re dense.

You seem upset that Bugatti did it before Koenigsegg.
