BMW M3 GTS '10 - Sound Level Low

For the BMW M3 GTS, the induction and exhaust sound level became low since the update. I think the chase cameras is not effected, but in hood view, bumper, and interior view the sound level greatly decreased.

It sounds more natural. Who cares if it’s lower. Before it sounded wrong. DO NOT GET THEM TO CHANGE IT! As an owner of a E92 M3, this is the closest to accurate that it’s been yet. Still not quite there tho. If anything, it needs to sound more like FH5.

I don’t know, I find the exact opposite. FM just needs a bit more of the induction noise.

versus the one in FH5, even though its only a 4.0 and not the 4.4 with GTS specific exhaust.

But no one can argue that they have been having problems with their engine and exhaust audio presentation of how cars sound in the game though.

No sir. It needs to sound like FH5 does with the ‘stock’ exhaust sound. I’ve had my E92 M3 tuned to sound like the GTS ( 4.4 doesn’t sound THAT much different btw ) and it does not need more induction noise in cockpit. Most of the induction noise in FM is too much anyways. Just take the 1M and toss a sport or race air filter on it and you’ll see.

Needs to sound like this here >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjJFEVlY9Lw&t=198s and it’s quite close on my dolby atmos rig far as the levels go. The sound samples, however, not quite there.

So it’s not that the level is too low, it’s that the dynamic range isn’t quite right. There’s too much bass and not enough lower mids. Makes it sound kinda flat. That is until you upgrade the air filter ( this entire feature needs reworked ).

This car in general is just wrong. Old model. Wrong sound.

Also. There’s a bug where your surround sound mode won’t sound right until you walk it through another mode first. At least on XSX there is. Idk about PC. On my XSX I have to go to audio settings. Pick another surround mode then go back to dolby atmos in order to get close to the right amount of dynamic range. It’s annoying. Have to do this with every car change.

I guess we will agree to disagree. The S65B44 with the GTS-specific exhaust shouldn’t sound like a stock E92 M3. The GTS in the AutoTopNL reflects that and even with a normal M3 with a Meisterschaft or a Super Sprint doesn’t sound like a GTS. I will agree that they butcher the sounds in the game that it does not reflect their real world counterparts most of their time. Even FH5 E92 M3’s don’t sound like what they do in real life.

I didn’t say it should sound like a stock M3. I said it should sound like the ‘stock’ exhaust on the GTS in FH5 ( which isn’t stock at all ). Guess I should have said it should sound more like. FH5 gets the closest far as cockpit sound goes. I drive mine fairly often and know what it sounds like.
