BMW M3 ‘08 - Inaccurate Model

It is troubling when you observe that the 2008 BMW M3 model looks somehow wonderful in an arcade racer like NFS Unbound than it does in FM and FH5.

For starters, there is the inaccurate width of the vehicle. Couple that with disproportionate front and rear ends, and poor details and you have a recipe for a disastrous car model. Similar to the SL65 Black - the size of this car just looks off.

Never thought an E92 M3 would look hideous, off, and like a cheap low-quality die-cast toy car model. An absolute shame for licensed racing game “built from the ground up”

You can find the linked post to FH5 Car Issues here. This one is very bothersome as a fan of E92 M3. Requesting to actually scrap and redo this car’s model.

Sorry to disappoint you but the only E92 in FM is the GTS, and I have made a model report for that one already.

This issue has persisted since Forza Motorsport 2. I have actually reported identical issues on a different version of the E92 M3 that’s been present in Forza Motorsport since launch, so I will reuse all footage from that report.
The 2008 E92 M3 first appeared in Forza Motorsport 2 as part of paid DLC. It appeared in each subsequent title until Horizon 5 with zero modeling changes, and even recieved two widebodies in its life. The E92 M3 GTS first made its appearance in Horizon 1, where it was a paid DLC. It seemed to have a slightly different model, with different body proportions and shapes. For over 7 years FH1 was the only Forza game that featured this trim of the M3. Then in Horizon 4 the M3 GTS was brought back, but this time it was using the standard E92 M3 model, down to the interior. This M3 model is really inaccurate even for Motorsport 2 standards. Now, the standard E92 M3 has returned with the exact same inaccuracies…

The entire front end of this car is deformed, the front bumper vents are too big, and so are the headlights, which makes the front disproportionate. Overall, the whole body is disproportionate, with the roofline being a bit too tall, and the whole car seeming slightly too short. It is not sleek in Forza. It should also be noted that any and all panel gaps are ridiculously large.

The rear end has seen similar fate, with the lights being too big compared to the rest, while the factory wing of the GTS version is a bit too small. The rear wheelarches are also slightly too low, which can’t really be amended by upgrading the Suspension.

Here is the E92 M3 now in FM. Pay attention to panel gaps, as they indicate the model has not been modified.

I would repost the Spot-on accurate model from GT7 here. (it’s a GT Sport model but it holds up pretty well)

Now it was added back in FM8, and it’s confirmed that the same old model has been reused.

It’s even looking glorious in GT7 as well.

Those panel gaps look ridiculous. I don’t understand why they aren’t using the FH1 model; it’s not like they haven’t brought back models from long before.

Good thing someone I know decided to make a video comparing with GT7’s model. The inaccuracies can be seen in Forza’s model, which shows the whole proof that all of this is true.

it’s GIF time! So, these enlarged panel gaps mentioned here, didn’t happen in GT’s model.

Wow, I actually thought the Forza model is much worse. It still absolutely needs a rescan though because the dimensions don’t match, these panel gaps may not be as easy of a fix as it seems, and the lights are of course completely wrong and extremely low quality.
