Hello anyone else having same prob as i do? Using Bluetooth Headphones game starts, works fine, all the sound is good, but when im done with the menus, get out of the house for drive all the sounds dissapaers, feels like my headphones just disconnects from pc, im not having same problem on other games. all the drivers are up to date. Laptop : ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15.6” Full HD 120Hz, Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Max Q,
I know its new game and there is a lot of optimization to be done, FH4 looked way better and ran more smoother than Fh5.
And one more thing, im runing game at 60 fps and its switches to 30 random points, i have to go to settings of windows, display settings change screen refresh rate to 60 hz and back to 120 to fix that for an hour or so, then it happens again. it is pc prob not the game, but maybe someone else had same issue and knows how to fix this?
Thank you for support, have a great day and enjoy the game!
i have the same issue so i have to use my old wired headset. works great then suddenly just doesnt work after about 10 minutes. they still work fine in windows and any other game so it is forza related.
Found this solution posted on Reddit and it seems to have fixed the problem for me using Audio Technica M50xBT. Open sound settings, manage sound devices then disable the one that says the name of your Bluetooth headphones with “Hands-Free Audio” next to it.
The workaround from Reddit worked for me too. But I think the game still has massiv issues, when you play with Bluetooth headphones, it has stills and sound dropouts every now and then and without headphones it runs a lot smoother.
For me the solution was to also deny Forza access to microphone. There’s a microphone icon in the windows system tray, if you click it, you should be able to stop allowing Forza mic access.
I think even though I had the Hands-Free Audio device disabled, Forza still tried to use the hands-free mode. After I disabled the mic access sounds came back instantly without restart. PS: Using Sony Sony WH1000XM3B on windows 10.
im on windows 11 and have the sony xm4’s, and nothing on this thread is working unfortunately. i had the hands free audio issue on windows 10, but since i switched to windows 11 that doesnt even show up at all. not in settings or anywhere. i denied fh5 access to my mic and its still broken. also ive found that the audio and everything works pretty much flawlessly until i go online. as soon as i leave horizon solo, i lose game sound completely and have to restart the game and stay in horizon solo to get it back.
I get a same error with Sony WH1000XM4, you can try to update firmware headset with ios/android app from Sony or manually install drivers for Windows.
So my mistake was that I disable the headset in a different category of Device Manager called “Audio inputs and outputs”. But you need “Sound, video and game controllers” category.
This happens to me on both my Bose AE2 and my Bose QC35II headsets. I only use them as wireless headphones and not headsets, so I don’t mind disabling that. Unfortunately, Windows 11 only allows me to disable to headset microphone source. The two speaker sources only show up as single combined one in the new OS.
I found that the issue is triggered when FH5 joins an online lobby. That explains why others don’t see it happen until after unlocking the first house. If I set the game to Horizon Solo, it doesn’t happen.
I found the best solution so far on WIN11. Since you can’t disable Hands-Free mode in WIN11 in the control panel, the only solution is to go into the Device Manager, go to the sound drivers and disable the Hands-Free driver there (you won’t be able to remove it). on WIN10 you can disable Hands-Free mode separately in the Control Panel
Thank you! Disabling the “hands-free” driver directly worked for me in Windows 11.
It’s easy to find the “Device Manager” app by right-clicking on the start button, then it was just a matter of expanding the sound category to find it:
