Show Down in the Snow Down was the most fun I’ve had in a while. I must have run 20 cars on that single race! Granted, the seasonal championship was Class A or B (can’t remember) but the blueprint I found was S1 only. Would love to have access to that race where “anything goes” including “any class”. I tried to make my own Blueprint once and it took quite a long time for a map that I couldn’t actually finish. ugh. So… I give you Blueprint guys a lot of credit. I also wish the blueprints showed the map so I could view it before going through the whole loading process.
If I had to make an improvement to Seasonal Championships it would be to give rewards beyond Expert. The current seasonals are getting too easy. It would also be great if there were some larger/career-like championships. …something long-term to work on when the seasonals are done…like a single PI 4-season championship.
Other tracks I am removing the PI, but unfortunately, I have no options for posting multiple. Is what is being treated as a bug where the only route shared at a location is the last blueprint I drive, even if I delete the route. As such, I have to treat tarn hows as a quarantine zone. If I make or run any blueprint there, It will disappear. Atm , Snowdown is the all time great for that site.
Given how AWFUL the Selection of events is from the “Community Routes” Screen, with it being mostly just Motorway based Credit and XP Farms, I am looking at doing Routes again (I had Several, but, sadly, the fact no one else was using them as they were just BURIED under a tonne of Motorway Credit and XP Farms caused a Massive loss in Confidence, triggering a Meltdown, and causing me to delete My Routes, unfortunately the Game Glitched and didn’t delete the Blueprints, so they are still there, but unusable as they are “Corrupted” ) but, I want to create a Route for each and every Single Start Point in the Game? is it Possible to do that?
If so, once I start Making Routes again, I will either post the Names (for Direct Search, no point using My User Name for Search as then you could end up Turning up one of the Corrupted Blueprints ) up in Here or ill start a new thread, give People (and Myself) something to Play that isn’t Yet Another Motorway Credit and XP Farm!
I list my routes in the racer lounge and use forum signature to link to that. It seems to work well plus getting reasonable usage and likes, all things considered. Plus also makes it easier to track and share elsewhere.
They can search routes by gamertag, so track name doesnt need to be special. Just remember that (at least for me) only the last custom blueprint raced at a location is what shows in search and shared at a start location.
Thanks Vaporiser, If/when I start making Routes again, I will upload their Names into the Racers Lounge as well. As I said, My UserName does, sadly, bring up a few “Corrupted” and Unusable Blueprints, so I will have to put the Course Names up for Direct Search so Players don’t get a Corrupted Blueprint.
I just need to know, what is the *Maximum" number of Custom Routes the Player can have Saved? can I Have a Route for Every Start Point in the Game? or is the Cap to small for that?
I havent ever heard anybody capping out their custom routes that way. Only limits I know are you can save five blueprints per start location and trying to add more asks you to save over. For me at this time is a wierd limit that only shares the one per start location.
Quite! Have many tracks to swell my head over, no need to limit it to just one…
Seriously though, are many people who like custom routes. Certainly there are people better than myself for creating or even the potential to create. That is more of the reason why I am so forward about my routes, so that others can see and be inspired. And to show the forza staff that custom races on a freeroam map is a huge benefit to the game they are failing to exploit. Heck, optimized means near infinite quality race opportunities. If that doesnt help for player retention and satisfaction, I dont know what will.
And complex or novelty routes do not need to have bad routing. The rough ones this past series for example. All a potentially enjoyable experience. Each one with same route could have been done without the blind turn and drivertar errors. Testing, refinement and experience is all. Certain techniques for visibility and ensuring good drivertar lines.
I am glad to know that there either isn’t a Cap on the Routes, or, if there is, its a Very High one. I should get to creating sometimes Soon. Not saying my routes will be any good, but, I do hope they will be worth a Try for someone in the Community!
Thanks for the Extra Advice I think one of the things I really need to work on is Checkpoint Placement! I find My Courses usually flow well, but, I tend to make the Checkpoints a little bit Tight, or I space them too far apart and it makes it a bit Easy to cut Corners, so I need to practice on Placing them better.
I’ve been frustrated with custom routes for the same reasons. So many are either super short or super long and ridiculous. Even the seasonal community routes seem like they are designed in a way to get the AI to miss checkpoints. I’m very new to creating custom routes, but created a couple for Derwent Water Trail and White Horse Hill Trail. I plan on trying to create more when I have time. Any feedback on the ones I’ve created is appreciated. My gamer tag is pcdunham.
What’s the point of 50 lap Goliath races? I see them being hosted soooo often, it can’t be for racing. Only way I can think of is start the race, go AFK and come back in a few hours to collect the credits?
For some, a legitimate 50 lap race is a challenge. In games past such as GT, I have done the many hour endurance races.
But other ones… Specifially if you join an invite, it is an exploit people set up. Meaning potential enforcement as well as recommended you report said players. As it is an exploit, it is against forum rules to say more.
They sort of follow the line, but not exactly. When on roads, they tend to be pretty intelligent and will turn in wider, and cut corners. I havent figured that out exactly, but the line is more of a guideline but they will widely vary off for better lines in corners. The checkpoints themselves seem to be a pretty major aspect.
I have a tendency to create fairly large maps at this present time. The route creation side of things are an enjoyable sideline to the game, especially when you have little interest in running a sadly limited amount of content per season. Finding no new or repeated content on the Fortune Island expansion is a bitter disappointment. I don’t claim to be great at FH4 and as an older gamer what peaks my interest is creating Blueprints. As many of you have stated in this thread, cash-grabbing over quality seems to be a pandemic and will continue to rear its ugly head. I have no idea how this viral trend will ever be erased completely. I have the conscience in knowing all my credits and levelling have been through an ongoing grind. Just be aware everybody that when you’re in any pvp races from now your opponents level might not reflect their skills for driving/drifting and clean racing etc. The creation of custom blueprints is a somewhat flawed system. For me, the niggling aspects of route creation are your first custom will be the only one which will be visible to the public per location. This in itself is very frustrating when you create a route your quite proud of but needs little adjustments to checkpoint locations, crossovers and deciding what class of vehicle are capable of running cleanly yet there are no facilities to save, edit, overwrite then finally upload the finished product. Secondly, the AI participants seem to either brake on a 20p piece or go flying past checkpoints then, in turn, having to respawn at certain locations. I have also noticed when driving a custom map more than once you can drive a nearly flawless run yet the AI will always catch you at the same locations. A little adjustment in the balance of AI behaviour would eradicate this. Vaporisor has been keen to share his advice, knowledge and wisdom in helping me with route creation and it is great to see so many loyal, honest and creative gamers out there who don’t want the cash grab but would like to share something that was well thought out, challenging and has the repeat playability for all the right reasons.
