BIGTIME MUSCLE: LEGENDS of IROC RACE SERIES (NEXT RACE 02 JUNE @ 8:00PM EST)

Ok folks, it’s time for me to stop talking about the upcoming IROC series & put the plan into action! The first few times running the series will be a learning curve & test/ evaluation runs. I would like for feedback in (2) different ways:

  1. Verbally via mics during the race
  2. Messages via XB Live & here on the forum. I’d prefer the feedback/ suggestions be made public so that everyone can see to either agree with, improve upon, & to spur further excitement toward the series.

IROC Racing Series

  • Series name subject to change if picked up/ sponsored by BIGTIME MUSCLE. New name will be changed to “BIGTIME MUSCLE IROC LEGENDS SERIES” (legends for the various eras of cars we will use).

Schedule (subject to change after feedback received from community)

Tuesdays 8:30 pm (EST)

Cars (all drivers will use the same car during races)

• 1970’s: 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

• 1980’s: 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA

• 1990’s: 1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

• Early 2000’s: 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Ram Air

• Mid 2000’s: 2006 Pontiac GTO

• 2010’s: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS

** TUNES FOR ALL ABOVE CARS FOUND ON MY STOREFRONT (FREE); LABELED AS IROC & THE DESCRIPTION WILL HAVE INFO ABOUT IROC SERIES NAME, DATE & TIME.**

Paint Schemes:
At this point… there will not be any required paint schemes, however, IROC inspired paint schemes are encouraged & plans for future mandated schemes are still in the works. Bottom line; even if IROC inspired schemes become mandated… no one will be turned away because of paint schemes!

Tracks to be raced on:
** The tracks I plan to use are both Ovals & Road Courses that fall w/n the United States … EXCEPT… the Oval track in Japan “Twin Ring Motegi”; list of tracks below:

Ovals:

  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • Sedona Raceway Park
  • Sunset Peninsula Raceway
  • Twin Ring Motegi

Road Courses:

  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • Infineon Raceway
  • Maple Valley Raceway
  • Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
  • Road America
  • Road Atlanta
  • Sebring International Raceway

Rules:

  • In keeping with real-world IROC rules:
~ All cars & tunes will be the same for each race
~ Damage will be COSMETIC only & there will be no pit stops
~ Race nights will have a mixture of both Oval & Road Course tracks.
~ Race length will range anywhere from 5 to 15 laps… with Oval tracks having the highest number of laps.
~ HAVE FUN… HAVE FUN… HAVE FUN… having fun is the most important rule! Respecting each other is a must… competition is encouraged… just as long as it’s FRIENDLY COMPETITION!!!

Prize cars & credits isn’t currently available due to lack of personal time & coordination; options for cars & credits will become part of the series in the future.

If there is any questions, concerns, or comments… please feel free to respond here on this thread or shoot me a PM.

I look forward to racing with you all & hope to see you on the track(s)!!!

Respectfully;

I will be online tonight & would like to have some folks run some IROC races! I’ll be on prior to 8:30 pm (EST) but will make sure to be online at 8:30 as well… hope to see some of you all there.

Let me know via this thread or on XB Live if you want to run some IROC races tonight!!!

I’m definitely looking forward to participating in this series. Let me know if there is any way I can help out. I’m in the middle of moving right now but I should have my xbox and internet set up by the end of the week.

Just an FYI. The next five Friday nights, koiftt is holding races in honor of Doodley Squat. You might not get the turnout you otherwise would until those five weeks are over.

Glad you & the others like & have fun with the cars I set up! I was worried that the cars wouldn’t be on par & up to your alls standards… glad to hear I was just not giving myself enough credit in my ability to build/set-up a car.

I’m extremely grateful that you guys showed up & most of all I’m extremely happy that you all had a good time! I’m thankful that I found you guys at BIGTIME MUSCLE & I’m glad that I’m now a part of the BIGTIME MUSCLE (88bg) Club/ Community!!!

I’m really bummed out to see the schedule won’t work out for me. I’ll be working during those hours on both days. Best of luck with your series.

I plan on running races on nights other than just Tuesdays & Fridays… it will be random with Tuesdays being the one set in stone time/day. Heck, anytime I’m online & there’s a a few of us online… I’d be willing to run some IROC races.

Just let me know whenever you can get on & I’ll try & plan some IROC racing during that time.

That would be great. Anytime on Wednesdays and Sundays would work for me. Although I do like to watch the NASCAR races on Sundays.
But I could always record it too.
Thanks Outkast

I have 20 Liveries set up for the '79 Camaro. Take a look and pick your car.

I love the designs brother! Thanks you!

As long as I get out of this dang Operations Center on time today there will be IROC racing tonight. I’m looking to lean HEAVY on the OVAL racing tonight. There will be some road courses of course… but OVALS hasn’t got enough love yet!

I have 18 Liveries set up for the '02 Firebird. Take a look and pick your car.

Sure looks like fun is there still time to join? This would be my first attempt at an online racing league not sure if this would be the proper venue.I am a 48 yr old “noob” who has raced on other systems so have some experience racing=).I also participate in the KOTT challenges and love it.

I believe so. outkast6 ACTUAL is the Host of this Race Series so if you send him a Friend Request and message him that you are interested in running I’m sure he’d welcome another addition to the races. As stated in the first post (I believe the 1st Post), all you need is the cars with the Tuning Set ups on his Store Front. BTW, we are all of varying age and skill levels so as long as you don’t race dirty you’ll have fun. Hope this helps.

Thanks for responding to Cape’s question Wolf.

I’m sorry for being off the grid for so long gents & as most of you know I’ve been off grid due to thyroid surgery. Additionally, last weeks IROC racing didn’t go because I was called into work a 12 hour night shift & wasn’t home.

HOWEVER… I don’t have to work this TUE night & unless there’s some kind of emergency… IROC racing will go @ 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 2nd!

I’ve been brainstorming some ideas… thinking of turning Legends of IROC to Legends of American Racing… MORE TO FOLLOW…

Thanks for the info - very helpful=)
