Better late than never!-- 2001 Ryan Newman design put on the Gen6 Fusion Stock Car!

Hey everyone!

So, I’ve been working on this design since the NASCAR expansion came out, and I’m thrilled to share it with you all. My Forza career (and passion for painting in the game) began back on Forza 3, believe it or not. However, since then I’ve been in school until finally graduating college this past May, which has finally given me plenty of the free time I need to sit down and finish off long-standing projects like this one.

Getting that out of the way, I just want to explain that I’m not going to bother making this thread a gallery as FM7 is so close, but I will be making one in the forums for Forza Motorsport 7, and this car will be the first one in there! I felt that this post would just maybe give people something cool to work with the last week and a half we have until FM7. Down below are some photos of this scheme which super rookie Ryan Newman drove for Roger Penske on a limited schedule in the cup series back in 2001. The next year he went on to drive the similarly designed 12 car for Roger, replacing Jeremy Mayfield, which he stayed in until the end of the 2008 season after 13 wins over those 6 years. I grew up falling in love with NASCAR racing during the early 2000’s, so schemes like this are all I want to ever make, and why this one is such a fun accomplishment. PLEASE feel free to let me know what you think, and don’t be surprised if you see this thing back in the FM7 Paint Booth forums as well during opening week! Enjoy!

This livery looks great! I just have one little problem with it. You’ve called a Fusion a Taurus. I know you’re replicating a design from 16 years ago, and back then, the Taurus was Ford’s NASCAR, but now it is the Fusion. I’m not saying you should change anything, it’s just that it seems weird to call a brand new car by the name of a 16-year-old car.
