Better exhaust flames

More realistic exhaust flames, pops, bangs etc. And diesel smoke for diesel cars.

Not just flames, but smoke and temperature in general. It would be great to see the exhaust glow red and spewing smoke or fire for someone redlining, shortshifting, or wrecking the engine with damage enabled.

To add, with the increasing popularity of electric vehicles, exhaust smoke patterns could end up being a defining feature of a vehicle much like the exhaust note itself, especially for a vehicle with e.g. quad tailpipes.

Lastly, it would be great to see backfiring and pops happen for bad shifting, too - someone dogging the engine at low RPMs that suddenly drops two gears to redline is probably going to create quite a sound under race conditions.

Agree! I really dont like driving around in an classic car and all you can hear is pops & bangs same as on any golf, or same as on aventador. Even those should be different. Crackles from 4cyl, v6 or v12 cant be the same. It would be nice if you could adjust manually how much crackles and bangs would any car have. Also exhaust flames are same on every car. Doesnt matter if its stock or fully tuned. This really makes me not liking the game saddly.

This video clearly explains the anti-lag feature improvements needed for FH5. The current anti-lag exhaust flames are just not realistic. They are super static, have only one color & size for all cars, and fake-looking as they do not even protrude properly from the exhausts; in comparison to Gran Turismo and NFS (both of which have very realistic, unique and proper flame system).

In addition, we are currently limited to adding anti-lag only with race turbos. There has to be better way to implement anti-lag, especially on cars that already have turbos to prevent moving up in performance class (say A to S1).

I completely agree! A nice improvement would be the ability to turn the ALS on and off while in free roam. Map it like they do with convertible tops for example.

It would be better to only have the machine gun antilag flames at launch control or full throttle at the rev limiter but not when you let go of the throttle. It’s absolutely overkill. Other games handle this a lot more realistic. The flames look good though

I would love to have this. Fh4 had much better exhaust. I wish we could see that come back.

Implement some way do do burnouts and make the flame pops bigger and more aggressive, add movement to the flame and have it last longer than half a second

I wish there would be better backfire effects, like in FH4 you actually had a 3d effect that looked really nice, but here all we have is a png of a flame. Please redesign the effect, i would be satisfied with the effect from FH4 with a different color or anything.
