Bernese Alps tunnel

What is it with the tunnel on the Bernese Alps course? I’m racing my Ferrari GTO class B through it, and it’s dark in there. It seems like three times out of four I hit something in there that dirties my run. I seem to be having a clean trip through, not wavering, driving alone, when suddenly WHAM! The side glass cracks and the dirty “!” appears alongside my lap time. Is there something in there I should be aware of? Do I have to go through it at 10 MPH with my lights to find it? Anybody know what’s up with that?

Calibrate your screen. The xbox actually has a fairly decent tool to do this… will make it all better, including everything else viewed on the tv.

+1 Did this myself the other day and was amazed at the Difference.

you keep hitting the wall that juts out a little.

There’s a little joggle in the middle of the tunnel. You can use the white centerline of the road to guide yourself, though.

The tunnel is not straight and you have to take that into account. You have to adjust the brightness like others have said and you should be able to see inside the tunnel ok. I thought FM5 is much better in regards to brightness than FM4 was. I could never get FM4 to look bright enough to suite me the game just looks dark.

That is also one place where the full racing line is completely wrong. Stay on it and you will hit that wall every time.

I find it funny that when you go through the tunnel everything is pitch black except for the car which is still pretty bright. I also noticed taillights don’t glow in the tunnels, hangers or shade.

Its not, the details all there, your TV’s just cranked, as they ship with total crap settings, with the understanding that overly saturated, and contrasty, will catch your eye as its sitting in your average big box store. Basically they mash together the darker tones calling them all black, then the same for the upper ends of light becoming white. This severely compromises image quality. Up until now people would have to do some leg work and purchase a product, such as a colormuki(photography), or pay someone to do it. Now the xbox actually has a serviceable screen calibration function to it opening up the option to everyone.

One thing, make sure to do your calibration with the lighting you most use the tv under. The color of the ambient light will affect how colors are seen. Also, let the tv warm up for 5-10 minutes before calibrating and make sure you go through the full process. Its worth it.

I calibrated my TV and was unimpressed with how it came out. Maybe it’s because I didn’t let it sit for very long. I’ll have to retry it later.

you mean brake lights? there is no night racing or tail lights in forza.

I believe there is a rgb option in the video settings that made a huge difference after an update for me before I always hit the wall.

RGB limited is for TV’s. RGB full is for PC monitors.

No Point setting it to full if you are using a TV, as they generally dont support the full range and details will get lost.

hmm. I’m sorry. Leave it on for at least 10 min, also make sure there aren’t any lights glaring across the screen. Giving your eyes a few minutes, to adjust to the rooms lighting, may help as well. Whats the make/model of your TV anyway?
