Benchmark stats keep changing on their own Why?

Hi, I have now set and re-set my benchmark stats, as every time I set them then go for a rivals race, they are never the same as when I set them when I go back in to tune up, anyone know why? does this mean I am not racing with them stats and in fact racing with stats that forza is choosing for me? I am loosing 2/3 feet in breaking distance, cheers

I’ve noticed a few times (mainly with gear ratios) that when I go back in to the tuning screen from the upgrade menu, the graphic slider looks like it is off from where I left it, but the second I click the final drive ratio towards speed/acceleration it jumps back to normal.

TBH I only use the benchmark menu to find my cars top end speed wise and limit or tune the car accordingly as it seems the benchmark and category grades are… inconsistent with actual performance. Whether that’s because the system doesn’t take in difficulty of driving or downforce or something along those lines, I don’t know, I just know that even when you drive near-perfectly, the numbers in the menus don’t always match up with the numbers at the end of a race. They are a good generalization point, but definitely not the final word in what a car can and or cannot do.

I have notice in three graphic sliders, gears, anti-roll and springs, so it’s not the case that these sliders dictate the handling and breaking ability? As I just recently broke the 500 leader board, and have noticed a big difference in breaking and handling when the stats are not the same as when I set them, it not all the time maybe 3 out ten races. Just a bit frustrating when I get in groove then have 3 totally out kilt races, it then takes me another 2/3 races to get back up true race pace again, cheers for the reply though

There is defiantly something not right with tune ups, I spent the last 4 days getting a perfect tune up, broke the 450 leader board yesterday, was consistently getting under 21 seconds. got on it today all benchmarks and slides were messed up, now not able to get same set up and not able to break 22 seconds, please that can not be right, I am so annoyed is it really worth delving in to the game when there is such an inconsistency with tune ups?

Sounds like youre not properly saving your tunes. I manually name and save each tune I create and have never had an actual TUNE change on me. Do the sliders seem ‘out of place’ sometimes, sure, but the actually tune numbers never change unless I dont save or move them myself.

If that was true then I should be able to build the exact tune as I had yesterday, but it will not give me the same one, so I don’t think your correct there, and if you call 5 lines granny posting I suggest you take reading lessons, as most adults can read more than 10 words

NO need to get snippy here. The text under the line is his signature, and not something he wrote about your post(s). They’re trying to help you by checking with you what you have and haven’t done, and they’re not trying to insult you.

There is almost only 1 certain way to say that the tunes are getting changed between every game; take away the human factor of trying to drive the exact same line, speed & cornering that that human drove the other day. Well, that’s almost impossible so I gotta agree with some remarks that you might not be saving your tunes from time to time?

I don’t understand this bit. I can build 10 exact same tunes if I want to. In 1 day or in 10 days or whatever. Would you care to elaborate on your statement because I certainly don’t understand what you mean by it.

My apologies for the snapping, did not realise is was his signature.

So if it was me not saving my tune ups properly, why is it that with certain cars I have the same tune up specs as I have had from day one, with the problem of not been able to get the same tune up as yesterday its a case of, when I notice that the benchmarks and some of the graph slides had changed, I put in the figures as I had yesterday, which I write down, but the benchmark figures are not the same as they were yesterday.

I believe the breaking line is set by these benchmarks? also when driving the car I have to adjust Anti- roll and diff and gears with different figures from yesterday to get a near same performance.

Now for me to get around the track in Near same time today I not only have to take a different driving line, but also have to have a different gear change pattern, the timing from yesterday is very much different than today. On some corners I am not even able to slightly replicate the same gear change timing.

The car today is by no means the same as yesterday, I drove for a total of 3 hours yesterday and for the whole three hours never did a lap above 1.21.900, yet today after driving 3 hours again I managed only two laps of 1.21.968.

Now when I put in yesterdays tune up figures today I was unable to get around corners without a mass of amount of understeer, the same corners that I flew round yesterday, todays car with same figures is not the car as yesterday.

I am by no means making out I a superb driver, but even little old me could manage to replicate at least 50% of what I did yesterday I am confident of that.

Excluding my snapping I do thank you for your help.

Hey, please ignore my previous gripes, Der!! I get this now, no assists, no driving line, manual with clutch means better chance of better time, hence the reason for difficulty, ok , suppose this is where the fun starts then. Just one question though does that include simulation steering? cheers, and yes me feel just a little daft!!!
