Oh my, lol, woke up as last this morning, a second behind the next in line, i think it’s a fair assumption that this isn’t my strongest tack
But my call for a nice tune was heard, and Wan delivered. Shaved 1.5 seconds of my time in 5 laps. The tune has very nice handling and nice brakes to go with.
I put together a grip build and so far have managed 1:21.334.
I’m still struggling getting the power down cleanly and attempting to eliminate it with some tune adjustment. When i’m happier with it I’ll get it shared.
Good for temporary WW #65.
Edit: Pretty sure my problem lies with the Diff accel set too low. The wheel spin turned out to be the inside rear. Raising the value should improve it
Glad you like the tune jungsten, I just did what Moss said, lightness and grip lol, I’m sure Moss will come up with a better tune.
1:21.812 so far.
Sorry I didn’t post in the last comp, that car and track combo, just way out of my depth lol
First off, welcome onboard. As far as I know Moss uses a Pad - Monk is a wheel user & I’m let’s say an occasional wheel user (G920).
The time I set last night was on my controller in about 4 laps. Tried on my wheel tonight and after 10 laps hadn’t caught that time, let alone improved. So back on the pad & posted a 1:23.0 something in short order. Just adjusting my gears now for more acceleration, will see if that helps shortly.
Cheers
D
Edit;
Improved to 1:22.893 with the tweak to gears, to be fair that could just have been down to better driving so not sold on the new gears. Looking at Wan & Moss’s tunes. They are both a little bit heavier than mine but around 30 HP more. So may revisit my build to see what I can do to equal the odds
Sorry for the wrong person on the wheel. I haven’t done gaming in 40 years. I’ve retired and was looking for something to do. So I got the xbox one x and the wheel. I’ve never use a controller. I did add the T3PA pro pedals and the load cell brake, makes for a lot better braking. I’m not a fast guy but having fun.
Ha ha, I want to try and crack top 100 WW so I need to get ahead of Joe with a low 1:22 - fingers crossed. I’m going back in. Catch you in a bit Jungsten.
Edit;
Tried sport tyres, full tyre width, more HP and even less weight - managed a 1:23 flat again.
Rebuilt car, same HP, more or less same weight, race tyres but not full tyre width 1:22.804 and still trying. Not sure if I’m losing out on the tune/ build or skill on this track. Think there’s more in it though. Not catching Moss and be lucky to catch Joe. Will share my tune after I get my utmost out of it lol.
Nothing wrong with that Coop, Moss may have you beat on age - you’ll have to compare notes lol.
I’m 44 have used control pads of various sorts & styles since the sega master system which is going back erm some years lol. The controller has a lot of advantages to be fair, the rumble on both brake and acceleration is excellent - giving great feedback on tyre grip level. The game is also heavily geared towards the controller as it’s the main input method used by the majority of gamers - they have tweaked and tweaked the handling to be just about perfect with a pad - to the point that starting to use a wheel (for me at least) - is like unlocking the super secret hard mode that almost nobody talks about.
I’ve got my time down to 1:22.681 and there’s another couple of tenths in there somewhere for me - just can’t seem to get all my ducks in a row on this one. My work when someone is underperforming likes to make things black and white - is it a ‘Will’ or a ‘Skill’ issue? i.e. is the person just not trying or do they need more training.
My time is definitely not for lack of will on this one, so I’m voting skill lol.
I’ve shared my tune in case anyone else wants to try it out, see if they can’t show me up in my own tune.
Have fun all either way - I’m done for the night, to be fair - we’ve got a charity coffee morning thing on at work on Friday morning, so I suspect tomorrow night be baking - not sure how much time I’ll have to lap again before the weekend & . . . then may just be running a little bit on FH4. Although still resisting the temptation, it’s only a matter of time really before all resolve crumbles and I click order in store!
Great time Smoke! I failed to tune the car as well, let’s blame it on the car
Fun is more important than speed, and you ain’t slow either, the top guys in this challenge are top 1-3% (estimation) guys, no shame to be a bit slower than them.
Just enjoy yourself, with more practice you will only get faster.
Fantastic time, well done.
Have tested your tune, found it a bit stiff. Positive was that it wasn’t attempting to break out much while accelerating.
No luck in catching you tonight, currently at 1:22.8xx dirtied some .2xx, maybe i will have more luck tomorrow.
For the age thing I’m 66 Years young. Playing with (toy cars and a car game) LOL. So the old guys like to tune to keep the mind active. Do you think I like racing?
I had a quick go after a tiring meal with the extended in-laws this evening. First flying lap was clean, so decided to call that a success. 1.24.732. Will try to run again tomorrow after work, but have to stay late to make up for leaving early today…
Lots of great times from everyone so far, I think we have another close one on our hands.
I’ve run a 1:21.128 so far with the little Volvo. Although I am having issues with the game. I can barely load the Rivals menu or even Leaderboards, and the tunes menu won’t load anymore either so I can’t try new tunes.
At first I thought it was the game but I am suspecting it might just be my internet. Or who knows, could be both at this rate.
I tried to put a tune on this thing and had terrible results. Thanks goes out to the tuners of the group!
Currently sitting at 1:20.504 using HLR Moss’s tune. PR is correct this has the potential for more, but not from me tonight…
It’s Dancing with the Stars watching night with my wife, so no more racing
Coop, fellow wheel user! It is great fun with the wheel, let me know of you have any questions…doubt I’ll be able to answer them, but I’ll give it a go! Nice to have you aboard.
Outstanding driving Monk, I thought it had the potential but my old fingers won’t let me do it with my pad. I keep getting them in a twist when exiting the final chicane LOL. I hit rewind by mistake on more laps than I care to mention
Thanks, that last chicane was giving fits as well. I had DOR set to 900, which is fine in most cases but I had to drop it to 600 to whip it through that particular spot. It helped but I know I left time there…
Thanks for jumping in, I think my download of FH4 is complete, so I might see you over there some time in the near future
I’m using the TX with gt28 wheel T3PA Pro pedals, best thing I did was to add the load cell on the brake about 3 mouths ago. For me on all tracks that made me get 3 to 4 sec. faster. Here is my setting been using for more then a mouth. Vib.=0, FFB=50, wheel rotatation=depends on what car 330 to 900, SL=50, FF under=133, FF Mimimum=119, wheel damper=0, Center spring=0. Give them a try and let me know what you think.
