During the stream, they even had the balls to say that their team reads the forums to check on feedback. They probably take us for fools because any below average human being could see from a miles away that a pack like this would not be well received.
Excuse me? WHAT? Ahahahahaha, how did they not see this coming then? I thought this would be pretty obvious of what the reception of the pack would be, but guess not. Kind of upset Esaki didn’t come on the show either. They had the other guy come on, Lee I think, the car guy? Something like that and he started talking about what they’re adding and it resonated with what JONK1969 said earlier about cars being added. Especially about stuff regarding REDUNDANT cars and I sorta scratched my head with the stuff they added over the year. Like the Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk? But then remove others like the 98 GT1? Too redundant? Oh well, water under the bridge. Do they not read about these kinds of things or these decisions, or was that before they started reading, or did they just go for the quantity of ‘new cars no matter the use’ approach? I can’t even be mad or disappointed with this anymore. Its borderline funny with what they say compared to what they do in terms of car packs (for the entire span of the game).
I get the feeling that all updates are coming to an end, regardless what they say. The monthly video is becoming a smoke screen to make us think they’re listening but in reality are preparing to stop support and go onto probably FM8 development. There won’t be any more cart packs and once the regulation system comes out that will be it.
Around 1h 21min and 27s he says they read feedback. So he’s saying that after reading feedback, they thought this Barrett Jackson whatever was the best car pack they could have made for those that BOUGHT the car pass after what, 6 months waiting? It’s just proof that those car and wishlist threads are just for show, their only purpose to make it look like they are hearing the community. So they either read and ignore, or they don’t read anything at all. Bla bla bla licenses bla bla bla, FH4 is laughing at you.
First of all: This car pack IS FOR FREE for car pass owners, because it is ADDITIONAL to the 6 car packs promised on purchase of the pass.
If you are playing FM7 from the beginning and bought the car pass, you paid nothing for all the free cars since may.
You guys are just greedy.
I WANT MORE, I WANT THIS, I WANT THAT, I WANT IT FOR FREE!
Maybe the cars are not for you, too bad.
I see that there are trying to be a bit crazy with the choices to get more variety.
Personally I like only the Shelby, the Cuda and the Chevelle (except the rims).
I don’t get this american thing with these Hot Rods, they are extremely ugly.
So at least 4 out of 8 cars I will definitely try out.
Not bad, considering it’s FREE.
I’m just a bit dissapointed, we don’t get the 911, too.
Are you a kid that doesn’t understand how this stuff works? Do you really think “buy one and get another for free” is actually like that, the second one is free? That’s how you think? If so, then it’s time to grow up.
Insulting people is not going to help. When the Car Pass was originally released it only included 6 car packs. It was only much later into the game’s life, Turn 10 announced we’d be getting an additional 2 packs as well as the Hoonigan pack included in the Car Pass. So yeah, Car Pass owners should only have expected 6 packs, not 8/9. That’s it, there’s nothing to read between the lines.
I don’t like this Barrett Jackson pack either, but making snarky comments in this thread doesn’t win you any awards. Just chill out, voice your opinion constructively and move on.
First of all yes it indeed was an insult, you were claiming to have superior intellect over someone by calling them a child or a kid telling them it’s time to grow up and so on.
Secondly your example of “buy one get one free” was an extremely poor example to try and prove your point, because this would be more like you buying a candy for $30 let’s say. Then a few months later the candy company contacts you and says we’ve decided to give everyone that purchased our candy an additional half candy at no charge.
And last of all sure it may not be some people’s cup of tea but it does satisfy others. Just because some believe X car doesn’t belong in FMS doesn’t mean everyone feels that way. I love racing oddball cars, trucks and SUVs in MP, there was lots of people enjoying winning races or doing very well(podium) in the Honda minivan when it came out. There’s lots of Jeeps and SUVs that are competitive in this game because you can do whatever you want. Sure not very many people irl want to put 100+k in mods to a willies Jeep but that’s the beauty of the game is you can build stuff and drive stuff you’d never be able to build or drive in real life on tracks you may not be able to drive on in real life.
you really have no clue
only person that needs to grow up is you
surprised you aren’t under moderation with the poor attitude you have towards everyone
I’m pretty sure we got the extra “free” car packs due to the community backlash for all the poor cars in the other packs. Clearly they haven’t learned by adding more cars very few knew existed never mind asked for.
That said if the price of entry is buying the car pass. Regardless of the extra packs they are clearly not free.
The spotlight car is decent and least
At least my purchasing options for the next Forza Motorsport in 2020 are clear and easy. Standard edition with separate purchases of car packs if the cars are to my liking. They clearly don’t read the general consensus coming from the community but they will understand money.
They added those extra packs because of how poorly received these packs were early 2017 especially the Doritos pack (I’m salty the safari didn’t make it into Horizon 4). They didn’t learn their lesson and just did the same thing again. Formula D? Ok fair enough, I liked that pack. Hot wheels and Barrett? No thanks. Add them to Horizon where they’ll be usable. I think most people had their hopes up since they had a “partnership” with IMSA (Nothing came of it other than commentary) and the game was released with next to none of the current season race cars. They even said it themselves back in October that they we’re lacking with motorsports stuff compared to their competitors. And mind you, Forza monthly was created just to interact with us after how poorly this game and its packs were received. And then they dropped the Hotwheels and Barrett packs. I cant be upset if these two were in the making before they started to take feedback and community seriously. If after, that’s just another self inflicted wound. The spotlight cars over the past couple months were very nice. Wished they kept that train rolling with the final packs to include some more IMSA/WEC/ or other division/classic racers. It is what it is though. Here’s to hoping they actually take packs seriously for Forza 8 from the get go. They said they would work on motorsport content so I hope it continues and doesn’t disappear with Forza 8. I mean it only took them 12 years to finally start talking about regulations.
This pack is not free for car pass people, we have already paid for it. Personally I cannot speak for other disgruntled FM players out there. But I can say for myself, I have no objection to the cars themselves but I do object to what they represent. And that is a gradual dumbing down of the Forza Motorsport brand.
I view this pack as rather weak myself. I personally think all of the cars will be fun to drive, but I completely understand why some are disappointed, and even more so when all but two could just be “reskins” like some of the Hot Wheels cars were.
It’s good, I just hope they bring us another TCR car to rival it.
Motorsport is about rivalries and competitors, and Turn 10 don’t really seem to acknowledge that as they always end up giving us a lone car in a certain spec, or choosing a car that did actually compete but a totally different year/regulation set or something like that.
