Back to the 90s (Series 39) overview | update Oct. 7

Especially when some of them drive off on the opposite side of the map :joy:

I just ended a match with 17. The last time I used it though there were 4 seekers in close proximity and only 1 was hit. It had worked like normal up until then. :person_shrugging:

There are definitely times both the chase breaker and ping don’t quite work how they should

Yes, I’ve experienced that with ping very frequently, to the point of not using it even when it clearly should work and sometimes being surprised when it does work. My first time with breaker being that off though so thanks for sharing that. I think I’m a ways behind you on the leaderboard  .

I made it to level 500 tonight and jeez 1,000 seems like an eternity away lol

man they really dropped the ball by not bringing back the IROC-Z in this update, huh? at least backstage is back i guess

Heh, I just noticed the new badges added in this update. Clippy, and that cool S that we all used to draw on our notebooks back in school.

Go to My Games & Apps and check for updates

yes, thanks - that was the “other thing”, the update did not show when looking at updates in the FH5 “manage game” section, which was weird

I’ve just hit 100; accolades and achievements both out of the way now . . . 500 already? blimey!

just did it, wasn’t that tough; got 4, then 4, then 3, then 2 or three other

think guanajuato might be a helpful level, you can wait at one end of the long walls, wait, ping several, then you do actually get a chance to drive off to let the meter run down and repeat, it was fairly comfortable within 8 minutes but you do need to have 4, pref. 5 of course, chasers actually trying

500 is a ‘painful’ amount of hours although one of my friends is now over 700 with a streak of over 1.100

Have to give all of you credit for the amount of time spent with H&S, but I’ll be honest, I’m still trying to understand the appeal of it & am actually surprised by the amount of time being invested in it.
Granted, I’m truly not in a position to give any feedback on it as I’ve yet to even click on the tab & have had no interest in doing so based on all the comments I’ve seen so far.
So am I completely missing something?

so far I’ve found it to be pretty good, I’ll stop short of “surprisingly so” because had no expectations of any kind - but suspect a few others might have such a sentiment - I’d say give it a go, it’s an engaging few minutes

It’s a tricky one for me. It all depends on my state of mind at that moment.
It can be entertaining - spent quite a bit of time on it when the mood takes me, though nowhere near as much as CG - but it does sometimes just feel like another chorefest, especially with these ridiculous limits on time played. I guess that’s just something they always do though with new things to try to get the metrics up until people get utterly bored.
It looks like it’s going to be a permanent thing though so you might as well give it a run and see how you feel.

Because an announcement for a temporary mode would have been made at something as big as Gamescom wouldn’t it…

It has it’s own dedicated leaderboard along with badges that require a massive time investment to unlock, of course it’s a permanent mode.

Common sense man :man_facepalming:

I find the mode just…fine, not worth the build up it was given but not egregiously bad either, got all the achievements + accolades done so I’ll likely never go back to it, I think it’s something better suited to a group of people who know each other.

I’d maybe only go back if some custom maps were made in EventLab for it to change things up, I know there’d be no traffic but trying to blend in with the NPC cars is pointless anyway despite it being a suggestion.

Only 3 maps is what made the repetition set in for me more than anything else when I gave it a proper go in it’s first couple of days, Guanajuato I liked but with Mulegé and Azul you already know how 8 out of 10 games are going to pan out in terms of where the Hider is going to go, I don’t think I had one single interesting game on Mulegé in particular, the map’s just far too open to the point that a Hider is best off just continually driving in the many open fields on a boring loop until the finish zone becomes available.

Can’t say for certain but I could see the mode following a similar trajectory to Super7, PG made plenty of noise about that in FH4 when it arrived as if it was the next big thing that would be another string to the franchise’s bow, and now in the following game it’s just…there.

I like the 430 Scuderia, but I think I down-tuned it. The Renault can be a decent rally tune if I remember correctly. I don’t think I’ve used the MK II.

I would have played this mode in the traffic cars. how they botched something so simple is beyond me.
