I did not like that initial mod, so it has been swapped and I’m still tweaking it a bit. - Takes a while, unfortunately. There are a LOT! of variables that you can adjust, turn on/off, etc.
Nah, I wouldn’t compare it to true racing sims. I have and play most of them. So far, Richard Burns Rally and BeamNG.drive have the most accurate and realistic physics. Infuriatingly, frustratingly realistic! ha.
It takes a special kind of post to get so many members defending FH5.
Comparisons between apples and oranges are hard to quantify and highly subjective because, well, they just aren’t comparable.
When jumping into my sim rig, with a high-end PC, 48" 144Hz 4K monitor, etc - I have modded GTA-V to be a far more accurate feeling, immersive, & more true to life - “Open World Driving Sim” than FH5 is.
The fact that it is GTA-V is irrelevant. I’ve no idea why so many place such an obnoxiously irritating strangehold on just the title of the game. It’s not even really GTA-V anymore. It’s FULLY MODDED. I made that clear. Couldn’t be more crystal clear about it, but people keep yammering on and on and on and on and ON AND ON about GTA-V. Just can’t let it go and keep missing the point.
This should not and should never be the case with a franchise as big budgeted and old as FORZA. It should not be. You can argue that it isn’t until you’re blue in the face, but FH5 is a buggy mess and there is no denying it, unless you just want to be an argumentative troll. - These forums prove it. Reddit proves it. Youtube proves it. Multiple gaming sites have proven it… It’s going downhill. It has been for a while. It will obviously continue decline as can be seen by just this latest update, alone.
Well for me, at least, not being a PC gamer for these titles & genuinely was not hip to this level of “modding”, nor did I know it even existed (guess I need to get out more lol) My original question was legit related to the console GTA-V version I have bc I was p***ed if I was missing out on DLC for actual branded vehicles instead of the wannabe knockoffs I have
SERIOUSLY! - I modded much older games, many, many years ago - like GTA-3, even - but, have not been in/around the modding scene in a while. What they are doing and have/can accomplish with such older titles or even new titles is insane. HUGE!!! community and following. I’m just now getting back into it, now that I have a sim rig and so many games. - Some of the independent demos/games being generated in Unreal Engine 5, by independent coders/modders are, well. - Unreal! ha
Lol. Was not a question. I meant “SERIOUSLY!” as in - I totally agree, me too. ha "…was not hip to this level of “modding”, nor did I know it even existed (guess I need to get out more lol)
I’m not a software engineer nor am I knowledgeable on game development, but I’d assume the big thing that’s really limiting FH5 and its potential is just how many people play it on how many different platforms and specs. FH5 has a much wider audience it has to cater to, the game has to work on all the different PC specs it supports and all the versions of Xbox. I’d imagine having to make sure the game run good on the near decade old OG Xbox One is limiting this game a lot. Where as modded GTA has a much smaller player base and its only on one platform, and most who mod games on PC already has a pretty good set up to begin with
But that is just my guess. Though I do definitely agree this game falls short on some areas, desperately needs to be optimized more, and def a little bit disappointing that some features decade old games have is still missing in FH5
VERY TRUE. - Yes, it makes perfect sense for Microsoft to place far more time, money, emphasis, etc - on developing specifically for their own hardware and game-pass streaming. PC gaming has always been a sort of … . . “crapshoot”?? - with regards to having to tinker with settings, use this driver not that driver, install this, not that, etc, etc. - I don’t see an end to that any time soon, unfortunately. It’s just par for the course. - and OH YEAH! - uuuuugggh… They need to let the old Xbox hardware fade out already and stop developing games for it. All very good points that no doubt leave the PC version of this game less desireable, overall. - Though, even the XBox Series-X can only play this poorly optimized, buggy mess at 30FPS in 4K, with high quality settings. WHAT??! That’s awful.
I haven’t been keeping up with the thread so I apologize if this is out of turn, but this is one of the many reasons why I’m upset that FH is an always online game.
If only we got two clients when we purchased games on PC. One, the base game, same as you get on console. The other, a single player only moddable client.
Though, to be fair, I think FH is an XML game and therefor unmoddable anyways. Way to be consumer friendly Microsoft!
Now that is one heck of a great idea… and it would cause a MASSIVE!!! sales up-tic in PC Gaming, which has taken a dive in recent years… Mainly due to the nonsense graphics card prices.
I wish they would just, at the very least - fix the nasty texture packs. Why is this still a thing!? It’s absurd.
Wait… You can play FH5 offline, but the Drivatars really mess with the overall experience. … . . OR - Can you not even do that, if you have no internet??
What does the game do without internet? I’ve never tried it.
People are talking about GTA V because you titled the thread ’ As an ‘‘Open-World Driving Sim’’ - GTA V > FH5, WHY?! ’
Not ‘modded GTA V’ or ‘GTA V with user-created mod added’ or ‘non racing game with driving mod’, the title you gave it yourself is why people are zeroing in on it.
People aren’t going to argue with you (well the odd one will but the majority won’t) about how poor some of the things are in FH5 and that they aren’t good enough for a game that’s supposed to exhibit the very best the Xbox platform can do, but this for the umpteenth time is a poor way to illustrate it, for years already we’ve known that modders can do + create things we can only dream of actual developers implementing into their games themselves, but it just isn’t as black and white as ‘modder did x so why can’t developer easily do x as well?’
For GTA-V, specifically? - The best thing to do is sign up for GTAV-Mods.com and scour YouTube for people who have already put together their own mods mixes. Some of the mods I am using are paid versions through Patreon.
INCORRECT - Read the post. It’s made ExTrEmEly!! CRYSTAL CLEAR.
… and you’re completely and totally incorrect with regards to programming, in general and the modding community. - Step away from video gaming and take a look at Android. - The reason why Android 13 is now what it is, can do what it can, has so many features, etc, etc, etc - is because of modders and the modding community. Custom ROMs and Google then taking those implementations, features, etc and expanding on them to be implemented in future builds. - Forza ignores us all and just keep pushing money-grab nonsense like Extreme-E cars and HotWheels.
Modders are also the reason why the likes of Apple, Google, Tesla, Space-X, Etc, etc pay so handsomely for hackers and software modders to find vulnerabilities in their code and continuously improve their products.
Sounds like a lot of PC file stuff. I’m too old to do that. I was hoping to be able to download DLC to my Xbox. But only thing Rockstar cares about is selling whale cards.
Ooh, sorry. I gotcha. Yeah, this is all for offline use and tinkering. It’s really not meant for online, though there are even some multi-player mods. I certainly hope Rockstar would ban any players using mods against others, online.
Usually these open world game traffic design secretly make space for you to drive fast.
Changing traffic light or lower the numbers of traffic in front of you.
(In 2077 it didnt so player often crash or stuck behind traffic when driving cars.)
In NFS:HP they atleast dont put 2 cars in both lane.
And then welcome to forza horizon 5.
It gen 2 lane traffic on races and traffic jam in a 12cars city race. and sometime dont have 1 car space between traffic
GTA5 got lots more hand crafted area/building vs forza farcrys like engine gen openworld map.
I think forza natual area look great but it is uninteresting and not really relate to the gameplay.
It is like spend time and resoure on making water on forza motorsport.
The “Drivatars” could use some major improvement, for sure. Non interactive. They just stop, sit there or turn around and the only thing they do in races is create super irritating, mobile barriers to avoid at random. They make online play super irritating when there are server issues, because some players see them and some don’t. Those who don’t see them, wreck right into them and cause chaos without even realizing it.
