I’m a PC player and am new to the Forza series. I’ve gotten pretty used to the vinyl group creator, but seeing some of these designs on this forum and having seen first hand the vinyl shapes they give you, I feel like I’m missing something here. Is there something I’m missing here such as cutting or trimming tools? Thanks a lot for the help.
Despite significant demand since the beginning of the series, no, there is not a means for cutting or trimming vinyls. You basically have two options for achieving the desired shape:
-
Stack individual layers, distorting (resize horizontally & vertically, rotate or skew) them as needed.
-
Mask the unwanted edges with shapes the same color as the base color of the car. In many cases, especially when working with factory paint colors, you will not be able to achieve an exact color match. Your best bet in these circumstances is to lay a base vinyl that covers the entire side and is close to the painted color of the car. For the nit-picky detail nut like myself, it can make or break your design if the car is painted a contrasting color and the door jams show through your base vinyl.
I hope this helps. Happy painting!
Both platforms have the same system and shapes there is no difference, just time and layering of shapes.
I put a good guide on the Vinyl shapes together back in FM6 but the same theory & shapes are in FH3.
