Any interest in vintage racing?

I figured I’d post this here to see who is interested. I’ve finally gotten around to getting MY SITE up and running (and it’s awful lonely over there), and since my primary focus is vintage/classic racing, I figured hosting a 1970’s Grand Prix series would make for a great inaugural series.

What I am looking at are the Ferrari 312T2, Lotus 77, and McLaren M23 in stock form (tuning is permitted) running a 7 race season:
Round 1 - Rio National, 44 laps
Round 2 - Long Beach GP, 48 laps
Round 3 - Brands Hatch GP (Dry), 45 laps
Round 4 - Nordschleife (Rain), 8 laps
Round 5 - Monza Full Alt, 38 laps
Round 6 - Watkins Glen Full Alt, 36 laps
Round 7 - Spa (Rain), 27 laps

The festivities kick off on Monday, November 16th, at 7pm Eastern.
Dependant on demand I may split off into 2 divisions (Eurasia and America), though I would need a steward to host the Euro events.

If interested, please register at Virtual Vintage Motorsport.

A few other tasty bits I have in the works:
30’s Grand Prix
50’s SportsCar Racing
60’s SportsCar Racing (aka Vintage LeMans)
60’s Grand Prix
70’s Trans-Am / Aussie Touring Car Masters
Can-Am
BMW ProCar
Group A
Group B
Pre-Y2K LeMans

Spent a good chunk of the weekend getting the builds together for the Group A series that will be kicking off the first part of 2016. Twenty cars to choose from, all built as close to FIA Group A spec as the game allows.

Still looking for some people looking for clean racing in some vintage machines.

Hey there, Im definitely interested in the vintage series with the Ferrari 312T2, Lotus 77, and McLaren M23. I registered on the site with the same username as my gamertag, if you’d like, feel free to add me on xbox as well. However, I dont have a headset yet, but I should be getting one within a week or so.

I saw your registration. Thanks for joining up! I’m out of town for work right now, so I won’t be able to host any practice sessions until later next week.

Alright no problem. Just add me when you get back. I’ve just been hotlapping by myself around the tracks lol

I should be home Thursday or Friday. I’ve run the first race of the 70’s Grand Prix a couple of times in Free Play against a full field of AI (granted there were only 2 other GP cars in the field, but such is FM6. Rio National is a very interesting circuit to race these cars on. Especially with AI…

I am, old school rules

Hop on over and sign up. We’d be glad to have you!

I think I’ll be postponing the debut of this series. I did set up a couple of polls to get a feel for when people would be available to race. If interested, please register over there and cast a vote for when you’re available to race and what series you’d like to see first.

Thanks in advance!

I joined your site! A problem with the time of the F1 racing series though… It is 01:00 AM for me…

If this is still in the works, I was curious about your Group A. I was hopeful I could get some more details regarding that.

The 1970’s Grand Prix is being put on hold for a bit. We’re taking a step back and evaluating what days/times will work best to get the fullest possible grids. Group A is very much still an option as one of our fist series. Schedule and build information is available on Virtual Vintage Motorsport
