I’m practicing on Iberian, but I think this is going to be my car…
Glad to have you aboard. A few comments about this round~
I hope we get more people involved than just three or four. I have been talking up the Racer’s Lounge, and sadly, most of the people I used to enjoy racing with are hooked on the XBOne, turning their backs on this “old technology” =3((
Iberian is one of those odd tracks where the character is sooooo different in the reverse direction that it is a completely different animal. Two turns in particular give me fits in the reverse direction, whereas I hardly give them a thought while taking them flat-out in the “normal” direction.
I really like the Australian car, but on this track, with me at the wheel, I find the Aston much better. Replay on the storefront; best lap 0:56.293
And a mini-rant about Photobucket~
I like their interface, I put up with their junk mail, but their pop-ups are suspect IMO because they drive my browser bonkers. I have to remember not to leave any of this junk open while I’m trying to compose a post on this forum. When I forget to close all their BS, Firefox can lock up as tight as a bull’s *ss in fly season…
Well, I gave it a few more tries with the Joss prototype, and I’m glad I did. I have been trying to optimize this car without messing with the excellent aerodynamics, but I finally caved in and added ugly wings fore & aft. For my driving ability this is a necessity for getting swiftly around both that nasty Turn One and the little wiggle near the end. I managed a nice 54.9…certainly no threat to the really fast drivers like Voldemortt, but pretty good for me. Even more satisfying, I ran six laps and was quite satisfied with five of them. The Joss has good speed and excellent handling. On other courses it doesn’t need the Forza aero.
Replay is on my storefront: best lap (six) 0:54.892
How can a corner look so innocent and be so tricky? It’s remarkable how easy this corner is in the opposite direction and so technical going this way. When racing in the “normal” direction, my only concern is not slowing down too much and in this direction, I actually feel relieved if I just get around it in good shape!
plenty to love about this track… after reviewing the replay, I’ll have to say I’m satisfied with only four of my six laps…
Because I’m getting older and slower, I’m ready to stick with my sub-55-second alp time. Could be a lot worse. I did some horrible laps with this car before I added downforce (and the Bertone, and the Spada, and the Gumpert); it’s just a tough track driving in the reverse direction. That’s why they call it a “challenge,” I guess.
Hitting low 51’s in the Noble , confident of getting into the 50’s with a tweak of the suspension to manage the bumpy section of the track . Will upload a replay in a day or two .
I’d like to try the Venom just for fun, but unfortunately T10 shafted me on the DLC.
I’d like to try the Noble (home town hero), but I’m leaning towards either the Mosler or Pagani.
What inspired me to start this thing is the parity of these cars on the one hand, and on the other hand how each has strengths for a certain type of racing, and unsuitability for others. I too have some missing DLC’s, but still have enough of these in my garage to make it interesting. The Zonda Cinque is very strong, as is the Mosler, but there are several that feel more comfortable to me. In my case, if I’m going to try the same car several times on the same track, it has to be (like the One-77) more fun than ordeal to get a clean lap. I really love driving the Joss on an oval, for example, but my tune is just a bit loose on this diabolical creation called Iberian Reverse.
I remember getting some great laps on some courses with the Hennessey, but thanks to losing some DLC’s it’s as if the car doesn’t exist for me.
I have some tuning setups on my storefront that are for cars I can’t drive now =3((
Thanx Torque . Im glad to have finished with Iberian Full . That first corner is a nightmare for me , im always braking too early or too late . I could probably have ran a few tenths quicker but i was glaf to have gotten the 51:3 .
Hello, I’m in
Probably the Mosler is the fastest here (2nd LB car)
I had a 0:48,0xx after 4 laps only with my standard Mosler handling tune
My challenge car is the Zonda - 1st shot:
0:49,115 - lap 5 - 10 lap race with 11 opponents/pro - replay uploaded
One ( maybe stupid) question, do i have to use the Pagani in all Pirelli Cup races now ?
Not a stupid question at all. My intention was to have a broad variety of courses throughout, including ovals and drags, short and long circuits. Everyone will be free to pick a different car (and tailor their tuning) for the course. I will announce a few days in advance which type of race is coming up.
Crackin time , MBD - i was wondering if you only get to use one car as well . Wont be too worried either way tbh , my Noble handles pretty well and is P.D.Q too .
Heads up!
The second round of the Pirelli Cup is a couple of weeks away, but I wanted to give everyone a chance to prepare.
Round Two will involve drag racing. Pirelli Cup cars, Sedona dragstrip; quarter, half, and mile using a single car for the three passes.
You may (naturally) customize the tunes if you like.
No AWD for the drag events.
Never done drag before , should be interesting - not - . Not something i have much interest in if im honest . It’s right up there with Monkey Tennis for me lol , but hey ho , ill give it a go . . .
Cant believe that got edited out , hysterical . You know that song from Snow White " Hi ho , hi ho , its off to work we go " - well thats what got deleted ! ! !
