Please permit tuning adjustments within Rivals without having to restart the race. The game warns that tuning mid-lap will flag the lap - but you cannot actually tune mid-lap.
Wanted to resurrect this one. Would be nice to get some credit rewards for the laps we’re putting in while tuning. Just nuke the lap and let us skip to a running start. I feel like I’ve put in hundreds of laps tuning my level 40-50’s, probably could’ve massed a bunch of creds by now.
Frequently I notice an issue with my tuning during a rivals lap, e.g. too much under/over steer; it would be nice if I didn’t need to quit the race and then start again to do this.
I would be OK if it completely invalidated the lap (or just flag it) so it can’t be misused but it’s just too clunky at the moment.
It’s made even more annoying when on a track that has a standing-start meaning that once you’re finally back in the car, you have to pause and skip lap!!
I’ll bump this again, tuning from the pause menu would be a really good, and (I think) easy to implement feature for rivals. I’d like to see it work like it does in test drives, if you pause and change your setup, the current lap gets flagged as dirty.
If there is an issue with gaining an advantage during the lead in to a lap with one setup, then changing it right before the start/finish line, you could make it give an inherited dirty lap if you change tuning too close to the end of the lap the same way you get an inherited lap for a collision or off track near the end of a lap.
This would make rivals easier/more accessible for anyone who does their own tuning, it is definitely tedious to have to leave the session entirely to make any small change to your setup, or doing your whole tuning process in a different game mode (test drive, mp practice sessions, etc), then going into rivals which isn’t quite exactly the same environment in terms of fuel load, tire deg, time of day, track rubber etc and finding you have to make adjustments to get the car where you want it.
Personally I would do a lot more rivals if this were implemented, I’m sure I’m not the only one.
afaik you get credits every time you complete a sector
