Access to Storm Island

I am presently at Tier 5 and have a purple wristband but cannot get into Storm Island, does not show on my map and is grayd out at the top menu bar. how can I get in ?

If it’s greyed out, it’s most likely not installed. That happened to me recently when I accidentally uninstalled the Storm Island expansion. If you know you’ve already purchased the expansion, try re-installing it. Otherwise, you probably need to go purchase & download it.

It’s beyond ridiculous! If I purchase the Storm Island DLC, it should be made available immediately! Apparently Forza hasn’t learned that irritating long time forza fans just make them look for other sources of racing simulation games. I will just have to go back to PC or Playstation 4 Gran Turismo 7 once it arrives. Whoever decided this nonsense couldn’t qualify for the special Olympics and we should pool money together to buy him a helmet so he can protect himself while he drools at his work station.

Because not unlocking everything at once at the start of what is essentially a tutorial is deciet. You do realize that the first Horizon had a tutorial too right?

Wow, everything in this game unlocks pretty quick. You just have to complete the tutorial that introduces you to the features of the game. If you are unable or unwilling to do that, then you don’t have a right to complain. The tutorial portion takes perhaps 15 to 20 minutes to complete if you don’t get side tracked and don’t have to repeat races for not placing in the top 3.

I don’t understand your complaint of “I bought the game, haven’t played it, and can’t get to the DLC” which is essentially what it boils down to.

As for the OP - which I doubt you even read Bob - you probably need to install the content. If you’re at a Purple Wristband you are more than far enough to have access to Storm Island and your issue may be one of two things:

  1. From the dashboard, select FH2 and hit the menu button (the one with three lines) and select Manage Game. Then ensure that the Storm Island content is installed. If not, install, power cycle console and proceed. If it is installed, proceed.

  2. If the content is installed, access to it may still be greyed out at the pause menu. To initiate access to Storm Island you must first drive or fast travel to Nice on the French portion of the map. You can see where to go because there will be a giant Pink “STORM ISLAND” symbol. Drive up to the “Access Storm Island” logo and press the corresponding button. You will be faces with a cut scene, an intro to Storm Island drive, and you will have to access the Storm Island Festival Hub. From this point on you can access Storm Island from the pause menu.

Agreed, if you have a purple wristband and have not completed what ammounts to a tutorial yet then there is something wrong. Everything except barn finds are unlocked after Nice which is the second stop and barn finds unlock after you select your first race at the third stop which is sisteron. The other three destinations unlock during the second 3 stop road trip because of progression.

So, must you actually complete the tutorial to access Storm Island or do you only need to reach Nice for the first time and take the boat? Either way - roughly twenty to thirty minutes into the game it,s open.

You need to play more of the game. Use Search on this forum, and you’re going to find the things which “unlock” not only the access to Storm Island, but other portions of FH2.

Here are some of the previous threads on the topic: http://forums.forzamotor…sland%20won%27t%20open#0|5 It is a good idea to check for previous posts before starting a new thread.

No you need to do certain things. Read other posts here. Not everything opens immediately, like you must earn your way in the game like for the purchasing of cars, triggering access to barn finds, etc. Check the tabs when you’re in-game.

Insulting people doesn’t help, but once you earn the right to continue on it is more fun.

It’s a deceitful tactic to allow people to buy DLC content before they’re able to use it without making them aware of it. Hence I wouldn’t have bought the DLC at all, but because they’re greedy, I choose to be insulting. I shouldn’t have bought Forza Horizon 2 in the first place. I won’t make that mistake again. In fact, I’ll go out of my way to express my experiences with the Forza franchise and their relentless attempts to nickel and dime their customers for everything.

The fact remains that this problem is due to their negligence and or lack of disclosure, nothing more.

Nothing deceitful about it at all. But that’s your stance and you’re stuck with it. Forza Horizon has always been a game of participation, discovering and opening addition events, avenues or cars, going back to the first version.

That had absolutely nothing to do with my comment but at least you’re trying. Yes, I bought a digital copy and I’m stuck with it, you’re correct. Don’t get me wrong, I like Forza 5 despite the limited tracks and cars compared to Forza 4. I thought Forza 4 was a masterpiece and Forza Horizon on both platforms was always missing something that just wasn’t there to complete the game. The bottom line is the fact I’m always fair and give everything a chance. My criticism is meant to inspire improvement, not just for the sake of negativity like most people. Drive Club on the PlayStation 4 was an epic failure as well and if Gran Turismo 7 is as horrible as Gran Turismo 6, I’m done buying their titles as well. The nice thing about capitalism is there’s always someone hungry to conquer the market with a better product and that company will get my money. It’s just that simple. Project Cars could be the next great racing simulator? We will see.

Just a suggestion: if you mean to make your criticism constructive, don’t attack people and suggest they “buy a helmet so they don’t hurt themselves while drooling at their workstation.” That’s not helpful. It’s cruel and nasty. Storm Island unlocks for play after you finish the first 3-stop road trip and attend the championship celebration at the festival. Shortly after, it will become available, just like the barn finds do. As for your accusation of T10 nickel-and-diming us: if I don’t want a DLC, I don’t buy it. For example, when the May car pack releases, I’ll only buy it if it contains vehicles I actually want to use. Even then, I may not buy the whole pack. I will only make that decision once the pack is officially announced. I may be a Forza fan, but I’m far from blind.

wow you sure are a real piece of work …3 championships completed, go to championship party and every thing unlocks…if you can’t do that…then nobody here cares…go away and cry some where else

Calm down little guy. I can literally sense the steam come out of your ears over the fact that I dare insult your blind allegiance to Forza. You Forza fan boys are quite sensitive due to the fact you have absolutely nothing else in your life other than this game. Grow up and stop defending failure or maybe that’s what you have in common with the game in the first place. It would certainly explain a lot.

if you play the game the way it’s meant to be played i don’t know what your issue is
complete 3 championships, what’s that about 36 races more or less … it’s really not that many in the overall point of the game…maybe a couple of hours maximum

I hadn’t completed very many races when I bought Storm Island and I had access to it with no problems. I like Storm Island so much
that I’ll be done all those races soon and still only have a few done in the actual game. Stick with it until you have access because when you do get to use it
you’ll really enjoy it. Shouldn’t take much effort to get it open.

I agree. When I first got to Storm Island I was blown away by the weather effects. Impressive bit if scenery rendering. I just hope they include it in future iterations of Forza.

Well worth getting if you haven’t done so yet.
