Wasn’t loved - unloved; yes two entirely different concepts . And to continue this discussion is just arguments for the sake of arguments so, yeah, you’re right.
Come on guys we are adults life is to short to argue you Never know what’s around the corner. Sounds like T10 is giving up on the game to me those of you who have stuck around playing the game show how much you want the game to continue. show how much you care about the franchise & your love of cars and Racing lets not argue instead lets come together and show our passion. give as much feedback as possible remember to vote too. everyone is welcome in the forums so don’t feel discouraged to voice your opinion every voice matters for both motorsport & Horizon
very well said!
Ayo remember this list?
Where is my SPIERLING AT?
(#15 possibly refers to one of the #15 cars we got in an update)
THIS LIST IS FROM DECEMBER 2023.
All the cars in this list (including #15) have had “VOTING” threads made for them in the suggestions hub.
Within months later, the cars were added anyway despite having little to no votes made on them in that time.
Stop lying to us man, just tell us the truth, this is getting ridiculous.
If any track was going to “save” the game, it probably would have been the Nordschleife imo. Realistically speaking, it’s basically impossible for any single track or feature to save this or any game. I think Fujimi Kaido will be a nice addition for those that want it, but I can’t really see it changing much in the grand scheme of things.
I’ve seen this whole song and dance with Halo Infinite, a new feature gets announced e.g. Forge/Firefight and a load of hype comes out, saying it’ll bring back lots of players or it’ll “change everything”. Those updates were great to have, but most of the time it’s updates would just increase players temporarily.

If any track was going to “save” the game, it probably would have been the Nordschleife imo.
And although this is only a single platform, here’s what happened when it was added:
For comparison, here is when Nordschleife was added to Assetto Corsa Competizione (yes, Forza and ACC released the track within about a month of one another):
Camino Viejo please! That track was amazing! Along with a voiced proximity radar system.
People seem to forget that ACC was considered a dead game at 1.0 launch. Averaging less than 200 players a day for almost a year. It wasn’t until a bunch of updates to fix bugs/driving model that it got more steady, but it really wasn’t until the introduction of matching services like David Perel’s and then lowfuel motorsport that it gained it’s real popularity and stuck. As another example, AMS 2 recently was added to low fuel motorposrts and became sim grid compatible for matching and it’s popuarity has soared and is maintaining itself beyond anything it ever did before.
Forza could do the same. Sure steamcharts are low, but I imagine there is a cadre of PC players like me that bought it on XBox store for play anywhere and the XBox players will be a lot larger. Make a working m,atching and rating system abnd Forza multiplayer will gain a lot of steam. There are a ton of top players not playting over on forzaverse because they cannot get competitive matches. With a working system you’d bring back a lot of those players, and many of them would start making more videos and streaming on twitch. The rise in competition would lead to increasing popularity of various Forza streamers and also guide videos, which would increase it’s visibility on social media. People start wondering what is going on over on Forza suddenly and then boom, it pops up on playstation at the same time. Suddenly you have tons of players in the multiplayer, and Forza is quickly gaining steam.
It is a comeback possible, yes. Forza has enough to differentiate itself from GT7, though it would never beat it. If they did what I just suggested, it would likely push sony to make GT7 or GT8 multi-platform as well which would be good for entry level sim racing for everyone. T10 has some BoP work to do. But BoP is not even that important when you consider how bad it is in GT7 with it’s 38 cars in Group 3 and yet only 3 or 4 of them are truly viable.
Valid points but you seem to forget that none of the points you have mentioned that might bring players back are happening or are likely to happen.
They basically just announced that all we are gonna get until mid 2025 is new cars.
You are right, which is why I keep beating the drum. Getting a proper matching system would require a deep coding overhaul of how multiplayer works and is not likely. But there is part of me that sees just how good Forza could be. There was a lot excitement around release when we thought matching and ratings could work that even brought in GT7 streamers, until it became apparent how flawed it was and then the excitement disappeared quickly.
It took 3rd parties to really give ACC and currently AMS2 it’s popularity, which isn’t possible in Forza. They’ll keep trying to get the current system to work, but even if they got the rating system to better reflect skill levels, the matching itself is fatally flawed matching on the go, no matter the player count.
Forza could do
But they didn’t. As a faithful player since May 2005, I’m starting to think I paid waaay too much money for undelivered promises.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the game, but seems like some balls have been dropped.
Hope t10’s new strat yields some good results, but NGL: feels like we aren’t getting what we paid for.
I wasnt comparing the two games, i said i think forza would be fine on playstation. I dont know why this has anything to do with gran turismo. When pcars came out on console, both player bases bought it, why, because it was new and different then the games theyve been playing for a decade. If forza released on ps5 the same thing would happen, for the same reasons.
I think youve highlighted one of this games fatal flaws. Although it was released as a sort of live service game, they never really embraced this concept in a way that actually works in other racing games.
The focus was/is on content, which is the same road past forzas went down, thats not enough. Skill based matchmaking was finally added after years of lagging behind other games and while it was a good first step, this should have evolved by now, taking what works in other games and applying it to this game.
When people watch youtube and twitch, they want to see close competitive battles, they want to see good racing. This games matchmaking is still too inconsistent to present that to people. Thats not to say it never happens, but never on the scale of the more popular racing games.
Yeah, unless I carry in a squad, or join a community, online racing for me consists of nothing but lonely races from the front or last to first challenges. Everyone pretty much knows who the top (and dirtiest) players on GT7 are because of top level streamers and content creators, as well as the live championships. It should be the same on Forza. No matter how much they improve the game, this is a fatal flaw for multiplayer that will keep Forza in obscurity.
I would love to see this game turn around for the better, but I can’t even believe that I’m out of hope for it. Not because it won’t turn around… but because we’ve seen this same song in dance since the early 2010s, when you had the ability to print money with Forza 4 and forgot what made the games so special. You’ve made some great strides to get back to the pinnacle (Forza 3 for me), but until you sit with the community (and not just the big names or the loudest members), you’ll never get back to where you were
Simracing enthusiasts in the last decade have been enjoying such a great plethora of good competitive track-based games, some with singleplayer modes and some without, and continue to have this massive selection (AMSs, ACs, PCs , Rfactors, raceroom, le man24, rennsport etc) while simcade fans have, what, Grid and PCars 3 (both games are dead rn, and, by the way, released 3+ years ago)? And Forza Motorsport here of course… which doesn’t even has a coherent career mode with some basic progression.
I would be happy if the devs revamped\completely overhauled the singleplayer mode. This is my only hopium for a 20th anniversary update or even paid DLC.
They will send tissues to all forum mebers who complaining in every thread. These are insider news. I am totally confindet in the superbe quality of every monthly update, which will handed out for free.
Don’t take this the rude way, but right there tells me you don’t know the game . You said the drift update was lackluster, but that was just for private drift lobbies. In update 12 or 13 they said public drift lobbies in the future . They aren’t done updating drifting , plus fujimi is perfect for all types of racing . Nobody jumping on the bandwagon . Us long time fans been begging for fujimi since fm5, us begging for the track is nothing new .

They also said that some of the time limited events and cars would be added to the game last year. We can only judge a game in it’s current state, not what it might be.
Speaking for myself, I think any track added is a good addition overall and I do like unique tracks instead of seeing the same track in every game. I have no doubt Fujimi Kaido will be popular with drifters and other people in the community, but I wouldn’t call it a track “that’s perfect for all types of racing”. I think Clutch2009 was right when he said it’s like Monaco for F1.

It is a comeback possible, yes.
I don’t doubt it’s possible.
I doubt it’s likely.
For years, the organization behind this game has shown little to no inclination towards doing things that would attract & retain more players.
Instead, the direction they’ve gone seems aimed at repelling players by offering less & less of what players want.
It seems like this game was never set up to succeed, which makes me wonder why they ever bothered making it.

there is part of me that sees just how good Forza could be.
This game is like a barn find: a neglected & broken-down rust bucket with potential to be a head-turning cla$$ic if its owner would just do a great restoration job on it - but they won’t do much more than spraying some window cleaner on the cracked windshield.
