A few gripes that should be rectified

I usually never complain about the Forza games, they have always been top-notch. But while i enjoy Forza 7, there are some things that annoy me.

  1. Smallest font size is WAY too small. I’m on a 42" plasma TV and can’t read the car stats, in-race telemetry, or the Distance Behind section of the HUD, and probably many other places.

  2. No headlights, especially in tunnels. Also taillights don’t seem to be bright enough under braking. It’s almost like they never come on at all. A lot of first lap crashes have happened because of this.

  1. Agreed. My poor old eyes aren’t up this anymore.

  2. I also agree, however you might want to try using the Xbox TV calibration tool. I did it, and things in tunnels were much improved.

Hmm, I feel I should add to this:

  1. Font size in FM5 and also 4 was perfect. You could be sitting more than 14 feet away and looking at a 40" screen, it would look fine. For FM6, I too sometimes to sit 6 feet away from my 40" screen. So it seems they’ve made them smaller. It’s going to look even tinier on a 4K display unless you’re on a 60" or larger screen and sitting fairly close. I’ve noticed how they’re games keep getting smaller, as in… they’re trying to fit too many things on screen at once. FM5’s FOV seemed pretty good, then things got tiny and zoomed out again in FM6 and now 7. We really should get an FOV option. Anyway, use the zoom feature on your TV, but if the text is anywhere around corners, then you’re outta luck m’fraid.

  2. Right, these should work, I agree. However, the taillights, much like the Horizon 3 game are far too bright. I noticed this in the demo (was not using any dynamic contrast setting) and gameplay videos I’ve seen - the brake lights look bright orange instead of red when they light up… as if the glass is half smashed or something. Doesn’t look convincing, and it was a bit of a gripe I have with H3 as well.

I’m not sure if we’re ever getting close to photorealistic lighting in Forza… lol!

I had to do a race on sebring at night, and my headlights and tailights were acting if it was noon. I was forced to turn on the racing line beacause i litterally couldn’t see anything in front of me…
