Number 1 is why when I load a previously saved tune do I have to pay to reload it ? I bought the parts before to load it first time so why do I need to repay to reload them ? I’m not bothered about the CR but why ?
Number 2 is why does it take two or three attempts to load the tune properly ? I load it but the figures are all wrong till I reload it a few more times ? That’s the same thing when loading a new tune as well as a previously saved one. Just annoying.
This seems odd. Did you previously load the tune on this specific car, or maybe you have more than one of that model of car and loaded into the wrong one?
I can’t say I’ve seen the tunes not load like this, I’ve been making tunes since launch and all my friends have never had a problem. I would suggest create a support ticket for the second issue?
had a chat about this recently; think @geistwriter and someone else indicated it’s to do with the wheels specifically, wheel diameter selection or something like that
I occasionally get charged for reverting a car to stock, which is bonkers - you’re talking a few thousand, yes? if so it’s in keeping with the wheels values
if tens of thousands, er, well, dunno about that, I don’t see that
the game gets a situation where for whatever reason it can’t apply the correct upgrades until it’s had at least two goes, think I haven’t needed a 3rd attempt in H5, though remember it in H4
In that situation, it’s when you load (for example) a B tune car but it loads as an A tune.
I think @AAORTA means when you load a tune (best done from the garage to see result) then you compare the loaded tunes stats with the stats of the tune you chose. Not completely different, but different all the same - normally for me, top speed may differ, or acceleration or lateral G’s
For me it happens more often than it doesn’t, someone mentioned it could be residue from the previous used tune, IDK. Either way, I always load a tune twice now.
Yes I had already loaded the previous tune in the past but it happens when loading a new tune or a previous one. Doesn’t matter what you do, it still takes at least 2 loads to get the right specs to apply.
I started putting in support tickets many, MANY years ago but stopped bothering several years ago. Support tickets are utterly useless these days so I won’t bother with that.
Question 1:
If you bought/earned/whatever 2 of the same cars you’ll have to pay again for the other car even though the tune is stored in the same menu. I suppose you had a duplicate and you did pick the duplicate instead of your main vehicle and you saw that you had a tune downloaded for it and when you applied it, it asked you to pay credits. Because obviously parts bought between cars don’t transfer. You just need to make sure you’ve picked the right car or alternatively get rid of any duplicates.
Question 2: If you already had a tune installed and you wanted to apply another one but then it won’t apply the correct PI and car class, you should try removing the previous tune first and then apply the new one.
Sometimes it might give you the wrong PI right before appying the tune and it won’t be an issue. Sometimes it will be. It’s a bug.
Same thing happens with liveries on some cars. If you try to apply a second livery on top of an existing one, the game will simply not save it to “My Desings”. You strip the car to stock paint, re-appy the livery and it actually saves it.
I noticed this bug being present in FH4 as well, so naturally it’s just been transfered over to the new game.
bit lost with this - confusing to read.
Q1 - I only apply tunes to the original car so Q1 doesn’t really matter. It still takes money for changing a tune on the original car even if it was previously loaded and a previously saved tune.
Q2 - it does apply after a couple of loads without changing the original but it does seem to be a an issue that’s just a nuisance.
It might also charge you a second time, if you applied a different tune. Because different tunes will have different parts equipped on them. Maybe that’s what happened?
Have you removed duplicates before? If you had 2,3 or more of the same car you might’ve removed your original car by accident, instead of the duplicate. Which is why you had to re-pay. It is possible. I’ve had this happen to me. It’s most definitely not the game charging you for no reason.
Say you have a subaru brz, and not just one but 3. All 3 of them will share the same menu storage for tunes. That’s what i meant. So you could’ve easily picked the wrong one and then wondering why it charged you.
I have no idea why it does this. It’s not about the recharging bit, more about the having to do it more than once.
I only apply tunes to my original car unless I want another for different things. I keep those in the garage for later use.
The only cars I remove, sell or gift are unused and untuned ones that I just want to free up garage space with.
As I say, it’s just annoying but not a major issue that I’m overly bothered about.
I’ll just keep doing the reload thing till it stops.
