Hey guys,
With a bunch of speculations after Playground games has announced they will be taking an off year, a lot of people have been starting to speculate the future for Forza Horizon 4. This topic today, we will be covering some ideas and possible new features to be added, and crack down on a bit of a rumor that has arisen after the announcement for a yearly break.
So first of all I would like to talk about the future of Forza Horizon 4. I think the game is great for the casual experience, when it decides to run well that is. And what I mean by that, is there is a lot of bugs present in the game that are to the point of making the game almost unplayable. For starters, the online experience when you would like to hop on with friends, and goof off or become competitive, is really problematic. A few friends have been reporting that online play takes multiple tries and efforts to just be able to work, and that it ends up being temporary as the game basically disconnects you or your game just crashes entirely. Now this bug could just be the fact the game is still fairly new and with many people requesting new cars and such, its just throwing off the developers a bit and making them take different routes to please the community.
Now my next topic I would like to get into is adding a few more races into the game as with some people, the create a route feature may not be their cup of tea. I personally think the create a route is a fun and exciting way to create your own race / crash course for you and other players to have fun with. But we definitely need to get a few more races in each of the five categories, (Drag, Dirt, CC, Road, and Street) to give the people who play this game on a daily basis a chance to not have to repeat every race every so often. Now granted the Forza Playlist solves this issue with the community championship, but a lot of these races have unbearable routes, and horrible racing lines for the people who use the line in game, which would include me for I use a braking line because after moving from older Forza titles where you could understand when to break and where to hit an apex, Forza Horizon doesn’t include this feature. But definitely, a lot of players do get tired of racing the same cars over and over and the same tracks can become tiring over and over, and without the user having to purchase an expansion pack to get involved with more races and challenges, I think this could be a good way to get users more involved. This kinda played out well with Forza Horizon 3 with how many races you could do with the different Festival Sites and different play styles for each site.
Another topic is simply speculation, as I too am one of these people, I do believe that Playground games has something in mind with the inclusion of a gap year. And I believe there is another expansion in the works. If this is so, there needs to be a few things to please a lot of users inside of the community.
This Includes:
A 1 mile drag strip
Unique Cars for said expansion
More ways to explore
(Me personally) A nostalgic feel to what Forza actually is.
With this, I kinda wanna give my speculation as to what a possible third expansion could be.
With using the four things listed above, I think the perfect area for a possible third expansion (If being processed) would be the area around Nurburg Germany. Now of all places, why would I choose such a small town in Germany? Well for many reasons, to fit the nostalgic feel and with some of the cars that Playground Games has gifted us, it would be a good chance to test out new cars around the area. This town is also home to the Nurburgring, one of the most popular road circuits in the world for testing lap times for production cars. This could also put forth the second thing on my list of what users would like to see. More unique cars for the said area. Now I’m not talking all German cars, but cars that made a name for themselves by producing an astonishing lap time on the North Loop of the Nurburgring. With the third option, the community always wants to see what a game is fully capable of when it comes to details, design, and creativity. So no doubt will this get hits from how people would like to explore this area. I say a more nostalgic feel because a lot of Forza Motorsports games have included this track in their title and, the Nurburgring is a closed road circuit. Not a race track but something similar to what the Goliath already is but with fences and barriers. The one mile drag strip comes into play with the long straight approaching a number of chicanes coming towards the finish line at the north loop, where cars can test their top speed from the curve all the way to the start of the chicanes.
Now alot of people would think this isn’t a good idea if Horizon got into a real racing circuit, and that makes a lot of sense as Horizon is all about exploring, but Forza itself is known as a racing game and the series started off as an all racing game with no exploration. But I’m not saying that the nurburgring is the only place to drive, I’m saying its one of the highlights of the area. It’s simply there for the competitive players to race on.
As for a closing statement, this is not a spolier, but simply an idea for what Forza could be planning. Comment down below what you think of this idea, or what Playground Games could have in store for the users. I took alot of time to think this through and I felt really proud when I came up with it!

Crystal.
