6.2L V8 Engine Swap

So I have noticed that almost every car in the game has the option of a 6.2L V8 that is very powerful and provides a great competitive edge to the lower class cars. But my real question is what manufacturer makes the engine that is used so widely in the game?

I have narrowed it down to two possibilities:

GM’s LS Series V8 (used as standard in the Camaro ZL1, C7 Stingray and Escalade)

AMG Mercedes 6.2L V8 (badged as a 6.3 on the AMG cars in game)

I’m fairly certain that it is the GM powerplant but I am not 100% positive.

Which one is it?

You are correct, the 6.2 available for swap is an LS motor.

Thanks for the link, that is good to know that there is a list.

I love that we can swap engines across manufacturers but I do miss knowing what car the powerplant came from. I wonder if Turn10 would consider using crate engines for swaps? Like the GM 572? that engine is an absolute beast and is not put into any production cars. It is only sold as a kit for the ballpark of around 16,000 dollars but it can come out of the crate with over 600BHP naturally aspirated.

I know this is likely to get this thread locked but its just an idea. I love engine swaps and the ridiculousness of dropping a V8 into a VW bus is just hilarious to me. And also quite difficult to control, but that’s a topic for another day.

To correct those above, it is NOT an LSx engine. The 6.2L in the C7 Corvette is the first of the 5th generation of Chevy small block V8. This generation has returned to the LT designation. The engine in question is called the LT1.
