Due to the cars you are given in certain missions not being able to hit as high top speeds during winter as they can during the other three seasons on normal asphalt, this essentially renders some missions impossible to 3 star until it becomes spring again.
Not a game breaking issue but kinda annoying that the game doesn’t at least put you in summer for those missions. After all they were clearly playtested and their 1/2/3 star times were made for normal roads, not for winter.
Whilst the speed zone/trap challenges are more difficult during the winter, I am finding the drift zones considerably easier due to having less grip making it easier to slide.
I made sure to get them all done before the winter came. I figured some of those Rental and LaRacer missions would be near impossible without adequate traction. Hate to say you’ll have to put off completion until next Spring.
This really isn’t a problem. There is do much to do in this game. Simply put off that which is not possible in the current season. It’s a week not 3 months.
Embrace the diversity. This surely isn’t a negative.
Yeah, I have to agree with this, and I actually really appreciate the way the seasons change giving it diversity. I am able to 1* missions at least still so I don’t feel it is blocking my progress. I’ll just work on 3* them when the season changes.
It’s a godawful gameplay decision, if it’s even a decision and not just a badly worked oversight like most of the problems with this game. It’s a negative that this is a single player story mode you’re basically prevented from completing with three stars because you’re trapped in winter for a week.
This is the kind of stuff that will frustrate people and drive them away from the game. I’m not sure I’ve ever played a game that’s been so poorly designed that you literally have to wait a week of actual time in order to progress in the single player mode.
There’s no excusing this. It doesn’t even seem like something that’s deliberate. It’s just the kind of thing that seems like no one bothered to think about it before they released the game.
I did think this was in the running for the best Forza ever, but the more I come across inane stuff like this, the more I’m glad I didn’t actually pay more than a month of game pass for it.
Being time gated in a arcade racing game shouldn’t be a thing. I also can’t get all 3 stars for some challenges in the Laracer and Fastest Car Rentals, feels like an mmo and not a racing game. I was going to carry on doing the challenges knowing i couldn’t get the 3 stars but it took all the enjoyment out of them knowing it was impossible. Please give us an option to pick what season to do the story missions in for future.
Have you worked out the optimal route for each one, which is often not the route shown by the driving line? There’s one fastest car rentals in particular I remember where there is a huge shortcut, it was the only way to get anywhere near the #1 leaderboard time.
In particular the Aston Martin Vulcan Fastest Car Rentals is impossible to hit the speed trap above 185 mph, 190 mph being the 3 star requirement. In the other seasons you can take the corners flat but due to the lack of grip and not having an option for winter tyres then you just slide around the corner losing plenty of speed. No shortcut available to “cheese” it. Try it yourselves in the winter season.
This is annoying as hell… The Vulcan mission is 100% impossible to 3 star. They shouldve done as they have done with other races and made these missions in a specific season, so when you start it itll switch your season for that race… Really stupid how we can’t complete certain parts of the game just because its freaking winter
the seasonal danger sign 3 stars… is that even possible?
yea i finally did it… u gotta use a super car with snow tires, i thought since this is a offroad thing in winter you gotta use a fast offroad car but that didn’t work
stupid me for trying to do this logically, apparently exotic super cars are better at offroad jumps than actual offroad cars
